PTA Newsletter
June 17, 2025
That's a Wrap!
Dear Ross Community,
I'll admit that parenthood knocked me down so hard a couple times this year that I thought I might have to crawl into June. I'd wager there's a good number of you that can relate to this--and here we are, at the finish line, crossing with our wayward Roadrunners. Whether your school year was filled with highs, lows, or a bit of both, you did it--you made it through another school year alongside your Roadrunner--take a proud, deep breath of accomplishment.
We are happy to inform you that this last newsletter of our school year is filled with nothing urgent whatsoever. So please have a wonderful summer filled with adventure, rest, and very little (or just the appropriate amount) of mayhem. We look forward to seeing many of you back here in the fall.
Onward,
Aimee

MySchoolDC Parent Advisory Council
My School DC – the common application and public school lottery for DC Public Schools (DCPS) and public charter schools in DC (pre-K 3 through grade 12) – is actively recruiting parents and guardians to participate in its Parent Advisory Council (PAC) with a focus on members from wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8.
Parent voices are critical to ensuring that My School DC is an equitable and valuable resource for families. Representatives who serve on the My School DC PAC learn about My School DC priorities, provide input on the design and implementation of policies, programming, and new initiatives, serve as ambassadors of information to their respective schools and communities, and advise the Common Lottery Board – My School DC’s governing body – on major policy decisions. The PAC is comprised of volunteers from all eight wards of the District who represent both DCPS and public charter schools.
Interested in joining the PAC? Apply here by Monday, June 30 at 5 p.m.: bit.ly/SY2627PACApplication.
Please review the membership criteria and meeting schedule prior to applying.

DC Metro Buses Changing Routes
Mark your calendar! On Sunday, June 29, Metro is launching their new bus network, designed to better serve you and the entire region.
The new bus network is a system shaped by a two-year process that included extensive data analysis about where and when people travel today coupled with 23 weeks of community engagement. This network is a result of tens of thousands of customers, residents, and stakeholders who shared their feedback online and at in-person events to help design a faster, more frequent, and more reliable bus network!
As Metro prepares for the launch, major efforts are underway, including updated bus stop signs and network maps, operator training, and system upgrades to ensure riders have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
🚌 It's never too early to learn your new bus route! Explore the updated trip planner, network maps, route profiles and more at wmata.com/BetterBus.
Get ready for a better, more connected way to ride!
