Back to School Q&A's
Q: What time does school start and end each day?
A: Our bell schedule has changed! Click here to view the 2026-2027 bell schedule. The important times are as follows:
- 6:50 AM – Timberland is open for students
- 7:20 AM – First class of the day begins
- 2:20 PM – Last class of the day ends
- 2:30 PM – All students must be out of the building. Students who are staying for a practice must be at their practice space at this time.
Q: Where can my student find their class schedule?
A: Students will be able to view and print their class schedule with their Focus app or the Focus website. For the first week of school, it's recommended that students take a screenshot of their schedule and use it as their wallpaper for easy access, or print their schedule. Timberland's main office can print schedules for students too! Please note that at this time, schedules are not finalized or accessible for students and parents.
Q: What is Den Time (5th hour)?
A: Den Time is Timberland's lunch period where students can eat lunch, attend tutoring sessions, play basketball, visit with friends, and more! The longer Den Time periods are a privilege, and can be reduced to a "normal" 25-minute lunch if students display consistent poor behavior.
Q: What is Pack Time (9th hour)?
A: Pack Time is Timberland's Student Success Time / homeroom period, where students will have the opportunity to catch up on their studies, attend tutoring sessions with their teachers, makeup quizzes and tests, and more. During Pack Time, students must first report to their assigned 9th hour classroom for attendance; they may then travel to another teacher's room for extra help if they have pre-arranged a pass on the "Pack Track".
Q: Where can we buy Timberland spirit wear?
A: Incoming freshman can purchase spirit wear at the 9th grade orientation at Timberland on Wednesday, August 5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Other students and adults can purchase spirit wear at our home football games this fall! Our home games are on Fridays at 7 p.m. on the following dates: September 4, September 11, September 24 (Thursday), October 9, October 23.
Q: My student is interested in joining a club or a sport. Who should they talk to?
A: Check out Timberland's Athletics Page to learn more about our sports, coaches, tryouts, etc. All tryouts for fall sports will begin on Monday, August 10, 2025. And, check out Timberland's Activities Page to learn more about the clubs we offer and when they meet during Den Time. When in doubt, reach out to any coach, club sponsor, or Timberland's Activities Administrative Assistant, Erin Willhite.
Q: My student is going to be absent or late from school. What should I do?
A: Prior to the absence or late arrival, parents should contact the Timberland attendance office at (636) 327-3988 x 27223 or attendance.timberland@wsdr4.org. Parents are responsible for communicating a student’s absence or late arrivals with the school, and students are responsible for communicating with their teacher via in-person conversation or email to catch up on what they missed during their absence.
Q: My student needs to leave school due to a sickness, appointment, etc. What should I do?
A: Students can only leave the building during school hours with parent permission. Prior to the absence or late arrival, parents should contact the Timberland attendance office at (636) 327-3988 x 27223 or attendance.timberland@wsdr4.org. Parents are responsible for communicating this information, and students are responsible for communicating with their teacher via in-person conversation or email to catch up on what they missed during their time away.
A: For the first day of school, all students will need their school-issued Chromebooks and chargers as well as a pencil. On the first day of school, all teachers will let students know of any other materials needed.
Q: How can I check my student’s grades?
A: Parents can view student grades and attendance in our student information system, Focus. To access Focus, download the Focus app (high recommended)!
Q: My student is struggling in a class. What should we do?
A: Here’s our advice for both students and parents:
- Students – All teachers have office hours at least once a week during DEN Time, and students should take advantage of this time. PACK Time is also a great time for students to attend tutoring with their teachers or to makeup quizzes and tests. Our teachers work hard to help all students succeed, and struggling students need to meet teachers halfway by using DEN Time and PACK Time to receive academic help.
- Parents – We encourage parents to maintain open communication with their child's teachers. Direct contact provides valuable insight into your student’s academic progress and classroom experience. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out via email.
Q: How can my student obtain a parking pass?
A: Please view this document.
Q: I have a question and would like to talk to someone. What should I do?
A: This depends on what your question is...
- Attendance? Contract our attendance office at (636) 327-3988 x 27223 or attendance.timberland@wsdr4.org.
- Grades or assignments? Contact your student’s teacher via email first.
- Scheduling or mental health? Contact your student’s counselor.
- Safety or discipline? Contact your student's assistant principal.
- Anything else? Call our main line at (636) 327-3988 x 27221 or email one of our administrative assistants.
9th Grade Orientation
Parents of Timberland’s Class of 2030,
Link Crew can’t wait to formally welcome our newest wolves to The Pack at Timberland’s Freshman Orientation 2026! Mark your calendars and clear your schedule now so your students can work with our Link Crew Mentors to learn how to MAKE THEIR MARK at Timberland High School!
All you need to do is drop off your freshman at Timberland at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 and be there for pick up at 12 p.m. We’ll take care of the rest! Our goal is to help the freshmen to feel more prepared for the first day of high school, and we want to help set them up for success in their four years at Timberland. Your freshman will participate in some fun activities, tour the building, make some new friends, and meet some rockstar upperclassmen who want to help these kids make the most of their freshman year.
This is Link Crew’s biggest and most important event of the year, but we need your freshmen there to build the foundation that enables our Link Crew Mentors to have the biggest impact throughout the year. Keep your eye open for reminder emails towards the end of July. We truly can’t wait to meet your freshmen at our 14th annual orientation event. We hope it will be the biggest and best orientation in Timberland history!
Check out some photos below of last year's orientation for the class of 2029!
Counseling Office Updates
In February 2026, all students had the opportunity to meet with a counselor to choose their classes for the upcoming school year. Here's what you need to know for the 26-27 school year:
SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS
We highly recommend that students check their schedules again, as updates are being made continuously. These adjustments are made to balance class sizes and support student needs – such as addressing second-semester grades, meeting graduation requirements, resolving conflicts, and accounting for summer school credits.
COURSE CHANGE REQUESTS
- Important Note: We build our master schedule and organize instructional materials – both of which were finalized in Spring of 2026 – based on students’ original course requests. Because of this, only essential schedule changes will be considered, and only with administrative approval.
- Want to inquire about a schedule correction?
- Please fill out the Course Corrections form. Please do not email course change requests; all emails requesting a course change will be disregarded.
- Not all course requests will be granted due to our master schedule, instructional materials, etc.
- Course corrections and adjustments will only be made during the first five days of the semester.
TRANSCRIPTS
Seniors in the Class of 2027 will be released on September 15. If you need a transcript, please email Amy Green (amygreen@wsdr4.org) after September 15.
