October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
We’re excited to join schools across the district in raising awareness about online safety for our students, staff, and community. This month, our students are invited to become Cybersecurity Superheroes! They’ll complete four missions: Think Before You Click, Update Your Gear, Protect Your Secret Power Codes, and Tell a Trusted Adult if something online feels unusual. Part of their missions also includes sharing what they are learning with their families so we can all stay safer in today’s digital world.
Parents, you can help your young heroes practice these super skills at home—one mission at a time! - and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or X at LZdistrict95 as we highlight practical ways families can stay safe online.
Halloween!
Our Halloween parties and parade will be held on Friday, October 31st! We are planning for the Halloween Parade to begin at 1:00pm. For the safety and well-being of every student, please select kid-friendly costumes that do not have masks or weapons. Masks present a safety hazard as they limit visibility; and many students across all grade levels find masks frightening. Weapon replicas will not be allowed. Students should bring their costumes to school in a bag or backpack.
Parents are invited on campus to view the outdoor parade. If it is raining, students will parade inside the building. Parents will not be able to come into the building to view the indoor parade. **For safety reasons, please do not bring your pets (dogs) to school for the parade.**
Please know only PTO room parents and classroom party volunteers may attend classroom parties. All room parents and volunteers must enter and exit the building through the main office and present a driver's license or state ID before receiving a visitor's pass. Please also complete the Parent Volunteer Form and view the Volunteer Safety Video prior to your arrival at school.
To ensure a safe and orderly dismissal on this very busy day, we ask that children take their normal mode of transportation home. Parent volunteers are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited. Thank you in advance for your support in making this year’s Halloween fun for everyone!
Made By Me Market
Does your child love creating items? Are they interested in selling those creations to friends and family? The Made By Me Market may be just what you are looking for.

Bernie's Books Update - THANK YOU!
Rock Star Alert!!! On behalf of all of us at Bernie’s Book Bank, thank you for hosting a book drive and donating 2,500 children’s books from the families at Spencer Loomis Elementary. This surpassed all prior book drives at your school and in your district! You are rock stars. Your generosity is directly helping us provide books to underserved children across our community.
At Bernie’s Book Bank, we distribute 8 books per year to every child we serve, returning to partner schools annually to ensure lasting impact. As we grow to reach even more students, we depend on continued support from groups like yours to sustain this vital work.
With sincere appreciation,
Bernie's Books
4th/5th Grade Recorders
For 4th/5th Grade Only-
Please help your child find their recorder from last year (in its case) and bring it to school. Be sure both the recorder and the case are labeled with your child's first and last name. Recorders will be stored in the music classroom until year's end. Fourth graders need theirs now; fifth graders will use theirs at a later date. Any fourth or fifth grader new to our school this year who does not have a recorder will be provided one free of charge.
If a recorder is lost, a limited number are available for $3.95. Your child can bring home a note to purchase one; return it signed to have your PushCoin account charged. Please try to find the original first, as replacements are limited and new orders may take time.
