Eagle News
SME newsletter for families and the community
Dear SME Eagle Families,
I hope everyone had an amazing week last week. We really enjoyed having our students back in the building and welcoming our smallest ones in on Thursday and Friday.
At Six Mile Elementary, we believe that teaching and following procedures is an important part of creating a safe, respectful, and successful learning environment for every student.
Procedures help our school day run smoothly. When students know what to do and what to expect, they feel more confident, can focus on learning, and can help others do the same. That is why we take time to teach, practice, and reinforce procedures in every classroom and throughout our school. This week, teachers will be spending time focusing on those procedures so that all can learn.
Families can support this work by talking with your child about the importance of routines, expectations, and following directions. When school and home work together, our students are more prepared to learn and succeed.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Eagles learn, lead, and soar!
With Eagle Pride,
Melissa Terry
Principal, Six Mile Elementary

Best of the Nest
Each month our school focuses on a character trait for our students. Mrs. Orr goes into classrooms and teaches lessons to develop this trait. We also talk about it on the school news program.
This month our word is CREATIVITY. We will honor students that show this at our Best of the Nest party at the end of the month.
Girls on the Run
3rd-5th grade girls Girls on the Run is so much more than running.
