Blue Jay Briefings
April 2025
A Message from the Office of the Superintendent
Warmer weather has finally arrived and we are excited about the 4th quarter at Marshfield R-I. Please help us continue to focus on our student attendance as we wrap up the school year. Teachers are still covering a lot of material and it is so important for our students to receive that instruction directly. MAP & EOC testing will be happening this month as well. Our final 24-25 Family Jay Night will be April 28th. We have had some great feedback from these events and we anticipate this one to be great as well. We will have food provided for all families as we have a keynote accompanied with several breakout sessions. Families will be able to connect with lots of community organizations and network with other families with like-aged children. Student activities continue throughout the spring around the district. Make sure to watch the communication from your child's teachers and building to keep up with all of the things going on at Marshfield R-I.
Proud to Be a Blue Jay,
Mike Henry

Ribbon Cutting at the Newly Constructed Tennis Courts
On Thursday, March 13th, we officially celebrated the Grand Opening of the newly constructed Tennis Courts with a ribbon cutting ceremony!
This incredible project was made possible through a strong partnership between the City of Marshfield and the Marshfield R-I School District.
The City was committed to replacing the aging courts, but this wasn’t just about restoration—it was about reimagining the future. By working together, we’ve created a facility that not only serves our community, but also provides an exciting opportunity for the Marshfield Schools to build a tennis program for students for years to come. A huge thank you to everyone who made this vision a reality!

Early Learning Center
Mrs. Amber’s AM Class had a fin-tastic time practicing their cutting skills by creating their very own pet goldfish—no tank required! Their creativity really made a splash!
Hubble Elementary
Mrs. Lee’s Kindergarten Blue Jays have been busy in art class with Mrs. Loe, creating beautiful flower masterpieces just in time for spring! Their creativity is blooming right along with the season!
Webster Elementary
Second graders at Webster have been diligently working on their research to complete their informative writing projects. They started by researching an Earth event and publishing a book. Now, the students are focused on researching an animal and creating posters to present and teach their classmates all about their animal. This activity provides a fantastic opportunity for them to practice their researching, reading, writing, and speaking skills!
Shook Elementary
Students in Mrs. Jakob’s 5th-grade class are working on passion projects. They started by brainstorming their interests. Then, they formulated a guiding question and from there they chose their projects and presentation method and began researching. Some examples of projects are conducting a chemistry experiment, learning a new language, explaining the function of sports equipment, and teaching their classmates a lesson in their favorite subject.
Jr. High School
MJHS students lit up the stage in their production of Frozen Jr.—and WOW, did they deliver! Their talent, hard work, and heart truly shone through. We couldn’t be more proud of this incredible group!
High School
Our students had an unforgettable adventure thanks to Disney Imagination Campus! They stepped into a real studio setting to record music from Mulan, Tarzan, Aladdin, and the final scene of Moana—set to the actual films! They had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in a parade through Magic Kingdom. It was a truly magical experience they’ll never forget!
March Teacher Proud Tuesday Recipients
At Marshfield R-I Schools, we are deeply thankful for all of our exceptional educators who inspire and shape the future of our students every single day.
Michelle Cramer (Hubble): Mrs. Cramer has a knack for seeing the unique spark in each of her students. She creates a classroom where every child feels special and appreciated, bringing out their best qualities. It's no wonder her students adore her.
Courtney Kelsay (Webster): After my daughter returned to school following an illness, Mrs. Kelsay showed exceptional compassion and care. She eased my daughter back into her routine and kept me informed throughout the process. I'm deeply grateful for her support.
Addy McCord (Shook): My daughter connects well with her, and she genuinely helps all students, not just those who appear to be struggling.
Gage Miers (High School): His passion for teaching and genuine care for his students are truly evident.
Paul Lewis (High School): Coach Paul Lewis brings an infectious energy to Marshfield High School, inspiring both students and staff. His enthusiasm motivates everyone to excel. My two children have thrived under his guidance.
