November 2024 🦃
Principal's Corner
A note from our Principal
Parents,
It seems like just yesterday when the temperatures outside were creeping into the 90s during the school day. Kids were coming to school in shorts, tee-shirts, and sandals. Here we are in the middle of October as I write this, and the temperatures are changing quickly. Even now when the high temperature is near 70 degrees, the morning temps are hovering near 40. Every single day we are losing 2 minutes of daylight as our planet tilts farther away from the sun. Soon, our trees will be bereft of leaves, and winter's chill will be biting at any exposed skin while we line up to start school or play at recess.
It is VITAL that our kids come to school dressed warmly in hats, coats, mittens/gloves, and boots (when we inevitably have snow on the ground). Please check the weather reports daily for changes as storms can pop up seemingly at any time here in Wyoming. 🥶If you have any need of assistance, please give us a call: we have access to winter coats, snow pants, gloves, mittens, hats, boots, etc. If we don't have them in your student's size, we'll get them at no cost to you. We all have the same goal: we want our kids to be safe as they enjoy themselves in Wyoming's winter wonderland!

Our annual 4th grade Veteran’s Day Program will be held on Thursday, November 14th. This year’s evening performance will take place at 6:30 pm in the middle school auditorium. Please have your child at the auditorium no earlier than 6:00 pm and no later than 6:15 pm. For the evening performance, please have your student dress up in a red, white, or blue theme. It can be all three colors, or just one or two colors. Nice jeans with no rips in them are fine, however, please no t-shirts or hoodies.
On the morning of November 14th, we will bus the 4th graders over to the middle school where we will rehearse the show on the main stage. After lunch we will have a final dress rehearsal starting at 1:30. The dress rehearsal is open to the public and you are invited to attend.
We will also perform at Worland Senior Center on Friday, November 15th at noon.

Counselor's Corner
Happy November 🍗 the month of Thankfulness!
Parents/Guardians:
World Kindness Week falls in November, so we are focusing on being kind! Students can enter into a kindness coloring contest, brought to you by Kindness Wyoming. They can make a poster or drawing of anything related to Kindness, and turn it into me by November 8, so I can submit it to Kindness Wyoming (by doing this, the guardian agrees to have the work displayed on social media /and/or reprinted for the purposes of Kindness Wyoming). We will also use the same entries to have our own school-wide contest. West Side will have two winners, both of which will receive a McDonald's lunch! So, get your kiddos to make Kindness Posters!
Guidance topics this month:
Forgiveness
Gratitude
Honesty/Integrity
