As you know, attendance is very important. Students need to be in school every day to maximize their learning. Each day they're out, valuable learning is missed. Please try to schedule family trips and non-emergency doctor/dental visits for after school or when students are on break. However, we understand when students are sick and need to be home resting and recovering. There are many cases of the flu, cold and COVID going around. Let's remind our children to wash their hands regularly and not share food.
Parents, if you're planning to volunteer at school this school year, the District asks all volunteers to attend a brief training. This volunteer training will be held this Tuesday, January 30 at 3:00 p.m. via zoom. Please see below for the zoom link.
Our Lost and Found is getting bigger! As the temperature fluctuates throughout the day, we want to send our children with jackets and sweaters in the morning, however, we need to make sure they're bringing them home after school. It helps to write their names on the inside tags so we can return them when found. If your child is missing clothes, please have them check our Lost and Found located next to our library.
Just a reminder, on rainy days we will be using our auditorium for student drop-off and pick-up. The side auditorium door on Stonehurst Ave. will be open from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. for student drop-off. In order to get our students inside quickly and safely, we ask for the following:
For student drop-off:
• Pull your car up to the curb on Stonehurst Ave. We will assist with opening the door for your child to exit. Please have your child on the right side of the car with their backpacks.
• Do not park or exit your vehicle where we are doing valet (in front of the auditorium door), in the bus zone, or in the staff parking lot.
• Don't double park or stop your car in the middle of the street to drop off or pick up your child.
• Leave home a little earlier anticipating traffic so there's no rush.
• Drive extra slowly and carefully where students are present.
For student pick-up:
Students in UTK-1st grades will be at the side auditorium door where students are dropped off in the morning.
Students in 2nd-3rd grades will be at the back auditorium door near the entrance to the school.
Students in 4th-5th grades will be at the gate by the entrance to the office.
Students in our Special Education classes will be at the same location.
Students in our Preschool class will be at the gate by the office door.
