York High School Weekly Memo
Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope you all were able to enjoy some rest as well as some time with friends and family over the holiday break. We have a little over a week left until midterms. Students are expected to attend all academic classes, but do not need to attend study halls or intervention courses. Our buses run at regular times, but students are able to leave after their midterms, and they do not need to be dismissed.
We sent about 40 sophomores to visit Sanford Regional Technical Center on Tuesday this week. The students had a great time hearing about different programs and seeing the state-of-the-art facility. If you have questions about the visit or SRTC, please reach out to Kevin Beatty in Student Services.
On Tuesday morning, we had seven students from the Class of 2025 come in for our annual Alumni Return Day. These alumni talked with juniors and seniors about their college experience, scholarships, the application process, joining clubs, dorm life, and any other information our YHS students were looking for. This is an event I look forward to every year -- great to see our former students share their insight (and to see how they're doing!).
Enjoy the rest of your week. If you have any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
Amanda
