Meet Our "new" Early Literacy Coach!
Hello Caddie families,
I've worked at Caddie in many roles, but this year, I'm in a new role. I'm the Act 20 Early Literacy Coach. The purpose of my position as a coach is to partner & collaborate with educators to analyze classroom data, set goals, & create a purposeful action plan that strengthens instruction to improve learning outcomes. One of the best parts of my new job is that I'm able to go into classrooms and see all the awesome teaching happening. I love seeing the kids engaged and asking questions. We have a wonderful staff doing amazing things at Caddie and I look forward to working with them in a different way.
Donation opportunites
The Health Room is asking for donations of sizes small and medium short sleeve shirts. Clothing items can be dropped off in the Caddie Office.
Classroom snack! We could definitely use extra snacks to have on hand.
Thanks!

Flu Vaccine Clinic Coming Soon!
The Pepin County Health Department will be offering free seasonal influenza vaccinations to all
students. The State of Wisconsin Immunization Program is providing the vaccine so local health
departments can offer these school-based influenza clinics to all school-aged children no matter what their health insurance eligibility is.
Attached to this letter is the “Vaccine Consent Form”. If you wish for your child to have this
vaccination, please complete and return it to the school office by OCTOBER 20th, 2026. These
forms need to be completely filled out by a parent or legal guardian using ink; one form per student.
Vaccinations cannot be given without this completed and signed consent form. Please make sure to
indicate your child’s preference of vaccine type: injection, nasal, or child’s choice.

Panther Club
Dear Durand-Arkansaw School District Families,
The Durand-Arkansaw School District is excited to announce that registration is now open for Panther Club, our before and after-school care program for the 2026-27 school year.
Panther Club provides a safe, engaging, and supervised environment for students in 4K through Grade 8 before and after the school day. Students will participate in a variety of activities including games, arts and crafts, STEM activities, reading, outdoor play or gym time, and other structured enrichment opportunities.
Program Hours
Before School: 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
After School: 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Program Fees
Before School Care: $8.25 per day
After School Care: $12.25 per day
Registration is required before your child may attend, and enrollment is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To successfully operate Panther Club, the District must have a sufficient number of students enrolled. If the minimum enrollment needed to operate the program is not met, families will be notified no later than August 14 that the program will not be offered for the 2026-27 school year. We encourage families who anticipate using before or after-school care to register as soon as possible so we can make an informed decision regarding program availability.
To register, please complete the online registration forms using the links below:

Additional program details, including attendance procedures, payment information, pick-up procedures, and program expectations, are outlined in the Panther Club Parent Handbook.

Caddie Woodlawn Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
School safety continues to be a top priority for our district. Orderly drop-off and pick-up procedures are essential to ensuring student, staff, and visitor safety, so please adhere to the following expectations and share them with others who may be picking up or dropping off your child(ren).
Morning Drop-Off: The school doors open at 7:45, please do not drop off before this time. You may park in the main parking lot and walk your child to the front door. It is best if you drop your child off in the loop, exiting on the passenger side only, and let them walk inside on their own. We will have a staff member at Door 1 to welcome and help students. Families may come into the vestibule to say goodbye or may come into the office but will not be permitted beyond this point. Breakfast begins at 7:45 and the school starts at 8:10.
Afternoon Pickup: The end of the day pick-up is incredibly busy and requires patience. When this procedure is followed, it is a smooth process that takes no longer than 10 minutes for all students to be picked up. If you are changing pickup plans for your child, please call the front office by 2:30pm so that we can inform their classroom teacher and get them to the right spot.
● No parking in the pickup line before 3:00pm. Parents who need to pick up their child(ren) early for appointments, delivery drivers, and mentors have difficulty entering and exiting the parking lot when the line begins earlier.
● Stay alert in the car pickup line and pull forward when there is space in front of you.
● Parent pickup students will be escorted to Door 1 at 3:15. Students will line up behind cones and will be dismissed by school staff to their adult. We will allow students to go to their car when you have pulled forward and come to a complete stop in the pickup zone.
● Students should enter the car from the passenger side of the vehicle. Drivers should stay in the vehicle if possible, when in the pickup line. Do not park in the pickup line.
● If you decide to park in a parking spot, please walk to the building to meet your child and escort them back to your car. Please cross the parking lot near the front of the pickup zone. We do not dismiss students by themselves into the parking lot.
● Drivers watch carefully and yield to families who are crossing the parking lot.
● Do not double park in the loop, we need to keep the line moving
● Please do not park in the street, the buses need to get through
● Reminder we are a tobacco free zone, this includes the parking lot
● Have your child ride the bus home if/when possible
● Walkers will be dismissed after the buses have departed
