Ohio State Testing begins this month. Students in 6th and 7th grade will take both the English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics tests. Students in 8th grade will take ELA, Mathematics, and Science tests. Each test is divided into two sections and will be administered over two separate days. The exception is the Science test, which is shorter and will be completed in one day.

Testing will once again take place in classrooms. We have found that students experience less anxiety when testing in a familiar classroom environment with their teachers, rather than in a large setting such as a gym.

Please encourage your student to get a good night’s rest before each testing day and to eat breakfast beforehand. Bringing mints or gum is also recommended.

If a student is absent, makeup testing will be scheduled for a later date, and that information will be communicated directly to the student.
