Hello Soaring Hawk Families!

We're so excited to welcome you back for the new school year! We've been busy over the summer making some great improvements to the school.

You'll notice our new flooring throughout the building, including the cafeteria, gym, and art room. We're also getting new playground equipment, which is being installed now and should be ready to go by Wednesday.

Please be cautious as there are large dumpsters outdoors that are still being used until Tuesday.

Task 1: Express Check-In due August 11th

ALL Parents and/or Guardians must complete the online process. Use your IC Parent Portal login to access the EngagED parent portal.

Express Check-in will include:
- Updating personal contact and student health information
- Completing required district forms
- EngagED Parent Portal Link - https://engaged.dcsdk12.org
- After logging into the EngagED Parent Portal, parents will see a link under each student to complete Express Check-In.
- If you have trouble, please call Student Data at 303-387-0016 or IT Support at 303-387-0001.

Task 2: Paying fees due August 11th

Once you complete Express Check-in for all your students, you can click through to the new fees payment menu. If you have previously paid for school lunches or field trips, you should already have an account for this system. If not, please follow these instructions to create an account.

Medications for Students: If your child has medication that will be needed during the school day, please bring it to the meet the teacher afternoon along with their medical forms. This year our nurse is: Erin Shotnik RN, BSN - eshotnik1@dcsdk12.org
Reserved Parking: Reminder that parking spots with reserved signs are ONLY for the families that are named on them. Even if these spots are empty, please be respectful and do not park in them. If you want a chance to have these parking spots next year, remember to bid on them at the end-of-year auction!
Kindergarten families only: You have Balanced Beginnings on August 13th and 14th. More information is located below.

August 11th

Meet the Teacher and School Supply Drop Off: 3:00PM-5:00PM- Classroom teachers will be available in their classrooms, and specials and specialists will be in their rooms or Town Square.

August 13th

First Day of School for 1st-6th ONLY

8:25 am—All students/families meet on the grass field in the back; Classroom teachers will have class signs for visibility.
8:35—Short program/Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem
After the program, 6th grade will lead us into the building, through the front entrance, and clap the rest of the school into the building.

Kindergarten Balanced Beginnings

Balanced Beginnings are transition days that ease the transition process for Kindergarten students by creating a staggered start. These days provide teachers with additional time to build positive relationships and introduce the new environment and routines. Our new Kindie students will attend one 2-hour session on these days, with the first full day of kindergarten for all students on Monday, August 18th.

School Pictures – Lifetouch will be here during the day to take pictures. Order forms will be available before the picture day and/or online. We ask that ALL students be photographed for identification purposes and the yearbook. Parents can order online at MyLifetouch.com, picture Day ID: EVTWNV4HM
