A Message from Principal Bogan A Message from Principal Bogan

Hello Families,

Welcome to the fall! We have had a lot of exciting things happening at Kimball. As always, we need you. Please consider volunteering in your child’s classroom, or in other areas around our school. As the African proverb goes: It takes a village… We are ecstatic that you are a part of our village!

Camp: Our Building Leadership Team met, and our staff voted earlier this month. As a collective we have decided, as a Kimball community we will not be participating in overnight camp at any grade level for the foreseeable future, but we are committed to field trips which involve/highlight outdoor education. Please know that we will continue to explore and participate in field trips which enhance outdoor education.

Pastries w/ the Principal: Every 1st Friday from 7:30-8 a.m. we meet in the Family Resource Room to engage in a chew and chat. This month’s topic will be Family/Teacher Conferences. Please come learn more about our inclusive schedule and how you can prepare for your conference.

Volunteers: Please take a moment to complete the volunteer paperwork. We are always needing folks to participate in the following ways: playground, lunchroom, classroom, and directing traffic on 24th and S. Hinds Street. If you have questions about volunteering, or you need to check your personal paperwork, please contact Mx. Moss mabosch@seattleschools.org

In partnership,

Principal Bogan

Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application Forms Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application Forms

All students should have brought home a student packet with important forms to fill out and return to the school.

One very important form in the packet is the 2025-26 Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) application form. We need ALL families to fill out the CNEEB form, regardless of income level. Participation is tied to important funding for our school.

Please return the paper copy in the packet or submit Child Nutrition Application online.

Thank you to all of the families who have already completed the form.

Volunteer Sign-Up Process Volunteer Sign-Up Process

There are updated procedures for new and returning volunteers at Kimball!

  • If you are interested in volunteering at Kimball, please start by reaching out to the staff member who will supervise your volunteer role and ask them to complete a volunteer invite form for you. (You can volunteer in more than one role once you're approved, but start with just one.)
    • For recess/lunch volunteering, contact Ms. Mi mlvassar@seattleschools.org
    • For library volunteering, contact Ms. Campbell jwcampbell@seattleschools.org
    • For classroom or field trip volunteering, contact your student's classroom teacher
  • Once the invite form is complete, the staff member will send you an email with instructions for completing your volunteer application (if you are a new volunteer) or checking to make sure your background check is up to date (if you are a returning volunteer).
  • Please make sure you sign in at the digital kiosk in the front office every time you volunteer. For your first volunteer shift, also bring a current photo ID and show it to the front office staff.
  • If you have any questions about the volunteer process or want to check your current approval status, please contact our Volunteer Liaison Mx. Moss mabosch@seattleschools.org
