Bristol Township School District
April 2026
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope this message finds you well as we move into the final full month of the school year.
Tomorrow marks the first day of May—May Day—which is celebrated across many cultures as a transition into summer, often with bonfires, dancing, and symbols of renewal. Traditions such as maypoles and flower crowns echo this agricultural heritage, celebrating life, growth, and the changing seasons.
In our schools, May signals the beginning of a month filled with activities and celebrations that highlight our students’ achievements in academics, the arts, and athletics as the school year winds down. We hope you will join us at some of our upcoming events, such as our district-wide art show, school concerts, and sporting events.
As we look forward to an exciting month ahead, we also reflect on April in the Bristol Township School District. This month’s Smore newsletter features Read Across America photos, a Harvard-bound student in our Senior Spotlight, impressive alumni updates, and much more.
Please enjoy this month's newsletter.
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools
Celebrating Read Across America
The Reading Olympics is creating lifelong readers among our students! Congratulations to all the teams that participated, and to Truman for scoring second place at the high school competition!
BTSD Proud Moments
BCMEA and PMEA Music Students
The April School Board Meeting celebrated our outstanding music students who performed in the BCMEA and PMEA Festivals!
STEM Design Challenge Finals
Congratulations to The Bone Crushers and Builder Besties from Mill Creek Elementary! They represented BTSD at the Bucks County IU STEM Design Challenge Finals at the Fab Lab.
Out of 153 design submissions, they were in the top 18 in the County! We're very proud of their effort, teamwork, and presentation skills.
Autism Acceptance Month
Keystone Elementary was honored to welcome back Ben Hartranft to kick off Autism Acceptance Month! Across their student assemblies, family engagement event, and “Blowing Bubbles for Autism,” the community came together in meaningful ways.
Baker's Book Walk
Brookwood came together for Baker’s Book Walk, a special day filled with reading, community, and heart. In memory of Mrs. Donna Baker, students walked while celebrating their love of books and helping grow their school’s book vending machine.
Spring Sports - Shirt Off My Back
Seniors in spring sports nominated a Bristol Township staff member, past or present, who has made a profound impact inside and outside the classroom for Shirt Off My Back!
By awarding a specific staff member, the student recognizes their efforts and contributions. Staff receive a handwritten letter from their nominator, explaining the reasons for the selection, along with a T-shirt featuring the student’s name.
PCCD BOOST grant
Bristol Township School District has been awarded a $500,000 PCCD BOOST Grant over a three-year period to launch a new districtwide after-school program for students in grades K–12. The program will start in the 2026-2027 school year with a focus on the elementary level.
This new initiative will provide a combination of literacy support, social-emotional learning, and meaningful enrichment activities, including STEM, nature-based learning, drug prevention, nutrition, and movement. All programming will take place in safe, supervised environments during critical after-school hours.
In partnership with No Longer Bound and agencies from the Bristol Cares Coalition, the program will focus on increasing student engagement, building positive relationships, and expanding access to high-quality after-school experiences. This work supports key protective factors linked to youth violence prevention, including adult mentorship, consistent supervision, and a strong sense of belonging and connection to school.
Raising Money to Help Others
Feeding School Kids
Through GIANT's Feeding School Kids campaign, BTSD received $8,618.96! These funds will be used to support our food pantries at Keystone and Truman, as well as assist the Food Service Department with the purchase of new equipment. Thank you for rounding up at the register!
NHS Charity Walk
On Saturday, April 18, some members of Harry S Truman High School’s National Honor Society chapter participated as a team in The College of New Jersey’s “Out of the Darkness” charity walk. They raised over $800 to benefit suicide prevention!

Alum Highlights
David Blay Jr. - New England Patriot
Congratulations to Truman student-athlete alum David Blay, Jr! After an outstanding collegiate football career and an appearance in the National Championship game for the Miami Hurricanes, Blay signed a free-agent contract with the New England Patriots. Blay was a Golden Teams First Team selection and SOL National Conference pick for Truman during his scholastic career.
Chris Greiner - Musician
Chris Greiner, Class of 2024, never expected music to turn into a career. He started performing in high school and kept growing from there.
“My songs are meant to feel lived in. Real stories, real words, and honest music,” said Greiner. “The genre has a blend of country, gospel, folk, and southern rock under the name ‘Revival Rock.’”
Foundation of the Arts
Congratulations to the Foundation of the Arts students of the month, who were recognized at this month’s Board meeting! Each honoree received a certificate and a Barnes & Noble gift card.
