Message from Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
It has been a busy week across CUSD with a couple of significant events happening tonight.
At 5:00pm we will host the grand opening of our Coronado Robotics Academy (CoRA) at the Palm Academy building. We are very excited to have a home for our rapidly expanding and hugely successful robotics program that includes over 100 students across CUSD. Our award-winning high school teams and our elementary and middle school clubs and teams will now have a place to call home - where they can practice, build, code, and create. Special thanks to the Coronado Schools Foundation for supporting this popular pathway program from the beginning. We would not be at this stage in the development of our Robotics program without CSF!
Also tonight - the annual Battle of the Strand will take place at Mar Vista High School as the Islanders play for the coveted Adrian Taufaasau Trophy. Adrian Taufaasau was a standout quarterback and captain of the 1996 football team who tragically passed away after an on-field injury. Taufaasau is remembered annually at the Battle of the Strand game and through a memorial installed on the scoreboard at the end of Niedermeyer Field. Kickoff is at 6:30pm. Go Islanders!
Go Padres!
Have a wonderful weekend!

CAUGHT POG'N!
As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments celebrating how our CUSD family is bringing our Portrait of a Graduate vision to life. What a positive testament to our community!
Click here to recognize a student, staff member, or volunteer who has been "Caught PoG'n!"
Those who are recognized will receive a copy of the positive words shared about them and an official "Caught PoG'n!" decal. Please take a minute or two to highlight someone actively modeling our district's core competencies and brighten their day!
