EAST AVE. Chromebook Use - Parent Feedback

East Avenue Middle School is exploring a possible change to how Chromebooks are provided and used by students. Currently, each student is issued a Chromebook that travels with them throughout the school day and goes home each evening and weekend.

We are considering a classroom-based model in which Chromebooks would remain at school in classroom carts and be available when technology is needed for instruction. This approach could help reduce unnecessary student screen time, eliminate the need for students to carry Chromebooks throughout the day, and reduce lost devices, broken screens, and other damage.

Before considering any change, we want to hear from our families. Your feedback will help us better understand how students use their school-issued Chromebooks at home, the potential benefits or challenges of a classroom-based model, and whether this is a direction our school community would support.

Please take 5 minutes to complete this feedback form. Thank you!

EAST AVE. HALLOWEEN COSTUME GUIDELINES EAST AVE. HALLOWEEN COSTUME GUIDELINES

Halloween is a great opportunity for students to show their creativity with their costumes. Even though Halloween is on Saturday, we are looking forward to having a safe and fun Halloween theme on Friday 10/30. While students are allowed to wear costumes to school, they must follow the following guidelines:

  • No Full Face Masks of any kind will be allowed

  • All make-up, hair coloring spray, etc… must be applied before arriving at school.

  • No excessive fake blood or gore

  • No skates or roller blades

  • Weapons of any sort (plastic or real incl. toy guns, swords, knives, or martial arts weapons, etc.) are NOT allowed as part of any costume at school. Anything inappropriate will be confiscated.

  • No large sports equipment (hockey sticks, baseball bats, etc)

  • Costumes must comply with the school dress code, be age-appropriate (no R-rated themes), and be respectful to others

    • Clothing, accessories, and jewelry shall be free of writing, pictures, symbols or any other insignia which are crude, vulgar, profane, obscene, libelous, slanderous, or sexually suggestive. Clothing, accessories, or jewelry that degrade any cultural, religious, or ethnic values, that advocate racial, ethnic, or religious prejudice or discrimination, or that promote sex, the use of tobacco, drugs, or alcohol, or any unlawful acts are prohibited.”

  • Any student wearing an inappropriate costume will be asked to change into other clothing

  • Costumes are not expected or required on Halloween, but if your child decides to dress up, please help select a costume that supports our efforts to provide a positive and fun environment.

PBIS Amazon Wish List

Dear EAMS Families,

East Avenue Middle School is looking for donations to help stock our Dolphin Dollar Store!

Our Dolphin Dollar Store is part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. PBIS encourages students to make positive choices, demonstrate responsibility, show respect, and be kind to others. Students earn Dolphin Dollars for demonstrating these behaviors and can use them to purchase small prizes and rewards at our store.

Below is an Amazon wish list of items that we would love to have. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!

Message from Livermore PD Message from Livermore PD

Dear Parents,

As we progress through the school year, the Livermore Police Department would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the residents living in the neighborhoods surrounding our schools, particularly during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times.

Please be considerate when parking and avoid blocking driveways, parking in red zones, or parking near fire hydrants. Additionally, please do not block ADA-accessible curb ramps located at intersection corners, as these are essential for pedestrians, particularly those with disabilities.

We understand that school drop-off and pick-up times can be busy but taking a few extra moments to park legally and safely helps protect our students, maintain access for emergency vehicles, and minimize disruptions to nearby residents.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our school neighborhoods safe and accessible for everyone.

Sgt. Scott Harrison #980

Protect Your Student's Chromebook for as low as $22 with School Device Coverage! Protect Your Student's Chromebook for as low as $22 with School Device Coverage!

I cannot stress enough the importance of getting this insurance. Your kids walk around with chromebooks everyday and don't always treat them well. From accidentally dropping them, throwing their backpacks around with their chromebooks inside, and just random things that happen, this insurance covers it.

Our District has partnered with School Device Coverage to offer parents optional, affordable insurance coverage for 1st through 12th-grade students’ LVJUSD-issued Chromebooks. (TK and Kindergarten students use a class set of Chromebooks when needed and are not issued individual devices. This coverage does not apply to students in TK or Kindergarten.)

Replacement costs without insurance can be as costly as $399 per device. School Device Coverage offers two policies, Basic and Expanded.

Coverage can be purchased through October 31, 2026, to insure your student’s Chromebook through July 31, 2027. (Coverage of device begins after the purchase of a policy has been processed and MUST be purchased before any damage occurs.) Policies can be purchased online at https://schooldevicecoverage.com/signup

Contact School Device Coverage directly at 1(888) 978-3515 with any questions
