Friday Updates
February 27, 2026
From the Principal's Desk
Dear SHS Families,
The weather lately has been very pleasant, which always brings with it growing excitement from students and teachers alike as they start to brush off their winter blues and look forward to the promises of spring. This always comes with a caution in our area, however, as the weather can be fickle and the cold can creep back in now and then. It serves as a good reminder to be sending your students with their jackets so they are well equipped to play outside, and if they have misplaced their jackets or warm clothes, I suggest checking with the office as we seem to be collecting a good range of lost items.
The past week has also seen its fair share of sicknesses. Influenza A & B have been going around, and unfortunately, it has gotten the best of some of our SHS students and staff over the past week or so. I hope everyone is rested and recovered for the week ahead and ready to learn! Reminder that your child should be fever-free for 24 hours, unmedicated, before returning them to school. I truly believe that the classroom is the best place for students to be, but if their health is compromised, giving their little bodies a chance to heal is best.
Next week is a short week with no school on Friday as teachers are having professional development and Faith formation. That means that Thursday, March 5th, will be the end of the 3rd Quarter. We will hand out grade cards the following Tuesday and have Honor Roll Announcements at Morning opening on Wednesday, the 11th.
With Faith & Hope,
Patrick (P.J.) Greer
