Our Crumbl Cookie Fundraiser was a delicious success! We raised nearly $300 for our Playground Beautification Project!! Woo Hoo!
Almost TOO MUCH fun planned for next week...almost:
Monday: No School (Presidents Day)
Tuesday: GBP is open (LCPS is closed). It's Lunar New Year: wear red!! We're ringing in the year of the horse!
Wednesday: MW 2, MWF 3s and Bees: wear your pjs! We're having pancakes for snack...its "P" week!
Thursday: T/TH 2s, T/TH 3s and Owls: wear your pjs! We're having pancakes for snack...its "P" week!
*I will touch base with parents of our allergy students to make sure my substitutions/mixes are safe!
In Music and Chapel this week, we heard Jesus' "sermon on the mount" (also referred to as the Beatitudes). Jesus called the people to lead a transformed life emphasizing love for others (forgiving those who are unkind and asking for forgiveness) and humble love for God. In music, we worked on note value and building our note towers...you'll see that in action during February Special Chapel on the 25th/26th.

Please remember to pull up as far as possible on Wirt Street during drop off and pick up. Also, please do not block the driveway to the left of the Wirt Street doors, we do not own that property. Lastly, please remember (and share with anyone else who may pick up your children): our Owls and Bees are in their classrooms until Noon. If you arrive before noon to pick up your Owls/Bees/siblings, please remain in your vehicle so you can pull up when other parents leave.
-2s and 3s pick up: 11:50am-12pm
-4s and siblings pick up: 12-12:15pm
Event Information
Before the somber days of Lent, it is tradition to go a little wild. Shrove Tuesday’s tradition of eating pancakes began with people trying to use up all the fat in their cupboards before the fasting that characterized Lent.
In the United States, Mardi Gras is associated with laughter, parades, fun, and … of course, New Orleans Jazz. We invite you to join us in some Mardi Gras fun on Tuesday, February 17, anytime between 5 pm and 7 pm in Asbury Hall. We will have a Kids Zone with activities and plenty of room to dance! Pancakes will be hot, the band will be ready, and the welcome is for everyone - friends we’ve known for years and friends we haven’t met.
