April 2026 Newsletter

Dear Evergreen Families,

March was a busy, exciting month on campus. Our 3rd- and 4th-graders headed out on field trips, our track team competed with pride, and events like Glow Games and our annual Talent Show brought great energy to our school. There was a lot to celebrate, and our students truly showed up.

April is already underway and shaping up to be just as full. We’ve kicked things off with two major events, our second annual Leadership Day and annual Open House, both highlighting the strong work happening across our school. Still ahead are Sensory Day, our Mother-Son Dance, and state testing, along with many other opportunities for students to stay involved and engaged.

As we head into Spring Break, I hope you enjoy time with family and friends—resting, recharging, and sharpening the saw. School resumes on Monday, April 13. We’re looking forward to a strong finish to the final two months of the school year.

Thank you, as always,

Dr. Cardenas, Principal

The Evergreen 4th and 5th graders had a fantastic time at the annual track meet, competing against students from eight other elementary schools in a fun-filled day of track events. Our athletes represented Evergreen with heart and dedication, and gave it their all on the track. A crowd favorite moment came when all nine principals suited up in inflatable costumes for a hilarious friendly race — making it a memorable day for everyone. We are so proud of you, Evergreen!

Our Beautification Student Action Team recently had the exciting opportunity to visit the Aquarium of the Pacific as part of a special field trip made possible by a grant they earned through their hard work and dedication. Students explored marine life, deepened their understanding of environmental stewardship, and connected their learning to real-world impact. This experience reflects their commitment to making our campus and our world a more beautiful place. Congratulations to our team on this well-deserved achievement!

Our monthly spirit assembly was an absolute blast, filled with celebration, recognition, and plenty of Evergreen pride! We had the honor of recognizing some truly outstanding student leaders for their amazing accomplishments over the past month. Our March S.O.A.R. Award recipients were celebrated for exemplifying what it means to be Safe, On-Task, Accountable, and Respectful — and our very own Track Team got the recognition they deserve! To top it all off, staff members faced off in a fun competition that had everyone cheering. It was an unforgettable celebration of the Evergreen Spirit, and we are so grateful for the incredible students, staff, and families that make our school such a special place!

Our Kindergarten Little Leaders truly stole the show this past month! Each year, our kindergarteners take the stage for their Spring performance, giving every student the opportunity to shine in front of their families. This year's show was filled with beautiful voices, colorful flowers, and so many wonderful memories. A big thank you to our talented kindergarten students and their dedicated teachers for putting on such a heartwarming performance!

Our annual talent show was once again a spectacular showcase of the incredible gifts and abilities our Evergreen students have to offer! From singing and dancing to martial arts, piano, unicycle, and so much more, this year's performers left the audience in awe. This year brought an exciting new addition, our Community Club hosted an evening show, giving families the chance to come out and watch their children shine on stage for one more unforgettable performance. It was a truly amazing event that reminded us all just how talented the Evergreen community is!
