Rev. Dr. Winelle Kirton-Roberts

June 3, 2026, 1:30-2:30 pm.

Central Moravian Church’s CE Building (lower level)

Who would imagine a Moravian Mission in the international city of Geneva, Switzerland? After all, it is not an estate with vast lands and closely knitted families. Neither is it an underprivileged community in a developing part of the world.

Come and hear Rev Dr Winelle Kirton-Roberts, founding Pastor of the Geneva Moravian Fellowship share the journey of this unique 21st century Moravian mission from its inception in 2019 to present. With the historic strength of Moravian missions, the evolving work of the GMF has become a formidable presence and influence in Global and Ecumenical spaces.

How could this help us to reimagine God's call for us today as Moravians?

All are invited to this special presentation! Join Sister Winelle, who is visiting Bethlehem to do research, as she tells the story of this unique fellowship. A native of Barbados, Sr. Winelle moved to Geneva, Switzerland when her spouse began work with the World Council of Churches. She has written extensively on Moravians.

Calvary Moravian Church is collecting items to recycle at Staples. We get a credit to help pay for ink and other supplies for the church.

If you are interested in recycling items that are not on this list, the full list of items that Staples collects is in Jess’s office.

If any of the items you are dropping off for recycling are still usable, please consider donating them to people in need!

PRINTER CARTRIDGES: Ink & Toner

BATTERIES: Rechargeable & Single-use (Please tape both ends of the batteries)

Our Moravian Women's groups offer a wonderful opportunity for fellowship each month now that we are into the fall months! We have wrapped up our study of The Difficult Words of Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine, a thoughtful resource that invites us to wrestle honestly with Jesus’ challenging teachings. Date information for our June gathering will be shared shortly!

All are invited to join us for Bible Study each Thursday at 10:00 AM! We meet in person and online, so even if you are not able to participate in person, we would love for you to join our discussion! Our Lenten study is called We All Want A Better World, and is a new Moravian resource.

If you have changed your phone number (or disconnected a landline) in the past few years, please contact Jess in the church office to update your info for the directory.

As we prepare for the new year, we’re excited to update and expand our Church Directory!

Please help us by sending your current contact information, including your phone number, email address, and physical mailing address, to the church office.

Please email your contact information, even if nothing has changed.

This year, we’re also adding a special new section highlighting the professional and personal masteries and interests of our members. Whether it’s a skill, a passion, or an area of expertise, sharing these gifts can help strengthen the connections within our congregation. Participation is completely voluntary, and we’d love to include your photo as well! You may submit a favorite recent photo you already have. Thank you for helping us create a directory that celebrates the people and gifts that make our church family so special!

Please send your updates and photos to: churchcalvarymoravian@gmail.com with the subject “Directory” and your last name(s).

For the month of May our joyful noise offering will be going to the Good Samaritan Fund!

As reminder, there are several different ways to give your offerings here at Calvary.

1. Bring your offering to Sunday worship.
2. Mail your offering to the church office at 948 N. 21st Street, Allentown, PA 18104.
3. Use your bank’s “BILL PAY” service. A one-time or recurring payment can be made by a bank on your behalf. Banks that offer this service typically cut a check and mail it to the church at no cost to you. Contact your bank for details. The bank usually asks for an account number. Just call Calvary office beforehand and Jess will supply an account number to you or just use your envelope number.
4. Make an online payment through the Moravian Giving Portal – https://mmfa.info/giving-portal/. Go to this link, click on our church’s name and follow the instructions to make a one-time gift or a recurring monthly gift. Donations can be made by members and non-members via direct debit of a bank account or by credit card. All donation processing fees for portal gifts are now paid by the Moravian Ministries Foundation – your full donation will be received by your church.
