Principal's Message

FUN RUN NEXT WEEK!

Dear Croce Elementary Families,

As we wrap up our fourth week of instruction, I’m thrilled to share some of the exciting activities that have been enriching our students’ experiences. This week, our students explored the garden, enjoyed interactive sessions with our wonderful Paws for Reading program and our furry friend "Sunny," and engaged in our music, science, and library programs. Additionally, our Running Club kicked off, with both students and some enthusiastic parents getting a great start to their day with morning runs. Please note that next week, Running Club will be canceled due to School Pictures on Tuesday, September 10th, and the Fun Run on Thursday, September 12th. We look forward to resuming Running Club the following week.

The Importance of Attendance

Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s academic success. Research consistently shows that students who attend school consistently are more likely to excel in their studies. Every day counts, as our curriculum is designed for bell-to-bell learning. Missing even a day of instruction can impact a child’s understanding and progress, particularly in foundational subjects like reading and math. Please avoid pulling students out for vacations whenever possible. Each day in the classroom builds upon the last, and consistent attendance supports our students' growth and development.

Independent Study Requests

If you find it necessary to request independent study for your child, please remember that our board policy requires a minimum of 10 instructional days' notice for absences of three or more days. This advance notice allows us to provide your child with the necessary materials and assignments to keep them on track while they are away from school. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy.

Exciting Fun Run Ahead!

We are gearing up for the Fun Run, which is our PTA's largest fundraiser of the year! This exciting event is not only a great way for our students to get active but also a crucial opportunity for us to raise funds to support various school programs and initiatives. We have a special incentive this year: if we meet our fundraising goal, I’ll be on hand to take part in a fun celebration—students will get to silly string me on the day of the event! Your support and participation in this fundraiser are greatly appreciated and will help make this event a memorable one for our school community. Thank you for helping us reach our goal and for supporting our students in this fun and exciting way!

Bike Safety Reminder

For those students who ride their bikes to school, please ensure that they bring a lock and secure their bikes to prevent theft or damage. We want all our students to enjoy their ride to school without worry. Locking bikes not only helps protect personal property but also promotes a sense of responsibility among our young riders.

Parking Lot Guidelines

Our parking lot continues to be a challenge due to limited space. With only 61 spaces available for 106 staff members, we kindly request that parents use designated visitor parking areas and avoid parking in spaces reserved for staff. Handicapped parking spots must remain open for students and families who need them. Your cooperation helps ensure that our staff can efficiently carry out their duties and that our special needs students have access to the accommodations they require.

Our Fun Run is Sept 12th! We appreciate your contributions to this fund raiser! It is the biggest one we do and the kids have so much fun! If they meet their goal, they will get to cover me in Silly String!
