Ashland Preschool Update
March 19th, 2026
Hello Preschool Families,
It’s been such a fun and exciting week here at Pittaway! Our students were so eager to dive into our new theme, “Out of This World.” Classrooms are already filled with great conversations about planets, space stations, and all things space. We love seeing their curiosity and excitement grow!
Students have also started working on crafts and special activities as we get ready for our upcoming Open House—we’re so excited for you to see everything they’ve been creating.
Just a few reminders for the week ahead: there will be no school tomorrow Friday, March 20 in observance of Eid al-Fitr. We wish a joyful and meaningful celebration to all who observe.
Next week, we’re looking forward to meeting with you for conferences. We will have early release at 11:30 a.m. (before lunch) on:
-
Tuesday, March 24
-
Wednesday, March 25
-
Thursday, March 26
Please remember there will be no PM preschool and no late pick-up on those days.
As always, thank you for your continued support, it means so much to our school community.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Amanda
Social Emotional Leaning (SEL) Resources
Last Tuesday, March 10th, classrooms participated in SEL day. SEL day is a global campaign focused on celebrating social-emotional learning. This year, Pittaway classroom teachers were provided with various activity cards that were incorporated into the school day. These activities focused on different mindfulness activities related to classroom activities. You can find the specific activities we used here: (SEL Cards). In addition to practicing these mindfulness activities, classrooms were encouraged to read books such as 'I am Peace' and 'I am Yoga'. These books are available at the Ashland Public Library! Finally, classrooms were encouraged to reinforce these activities with a fun calming song: https://bit.ly/4t0cjNU. Students also listened to this song as part of a whole school activity in the fall and had a lot of fun getting their wiggles out again while learning some ways to calm their bodies after a lot of excitement!
🏫 Preschool Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year 🏫
We currently have a waitlist for all our classes for the 26/27 school year, except for our 4-day 3-year-old AM class. If you are interested in signing up for this option, please send your application to Donna Pederson dpederson@ashland.k12.ma.us
If your child receives a placement through Special Education, the Teams will be making recommendations during upcoming IEP meetings and will communicate that with you.
Visit the website for registration details. Updated Registration form is available on the website.
🥪Join Us for a PTO Fundraiser!🥪
Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 19th, and join us at Ashland Ale House! A portion of all in-person and takeout food orders placed throughout the day will be donated back to the Pittaway PTO. It’s a delicious way to support our school community.
Thank you for helping make a difference!
