Caldwell Den System
4 Dens ... 1 Pack
The Caldwell Den System is a school wide structure where all staff and students are sorted into one of four Dens. The system is modeled after the structure that was developed at the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
Purpose
This den system creates a community among our students while encouraging student leadership and motivation to succeed in school. One of the key benefits of the den system is that it promotes a sense of belonging among students. Each student will be assigned to one of 4 dens listed below and will have the opportunity to participate in den-specific events and activities throughout the year. This sense of belonging can help students feel more connected to their school and peers, which leads to greater engagement and motivation in their studies.
In addition to promoting a sense of belonging, the den system also encourages student leadership. Students can take on leadership roles within their dens, such as serving as den leaders or leading den events. These roles help students develop important leadership skills and build self-confidence. The den system has also effectively improved academic performance when implemented correctly. Schools worldwide that have implemented the system have seen a decrease in discipline referrals, improvements in relationships among peers and staff, and increases in academic performance. These benefits come from how the system encourages students to take ownership of their learning and behavior while working together to achieve common goals with their peers.
Misson
- Fostering a Sense of Community: The den system creates smaller communities within the larger school environment, helping students build strong relationships and a sense of belonging. It encourages students to support one another and develop friendships across different grades.
- Promoting Healthy Competition: By dividing students into different dens, the system fosters healthy competition in academics, behavior, and extracurricular activities. This competition motivates students to strive for excellence and take pride in their achievements.
- Enhancing School Spirit and Engagement: The Den System contributes to a vibrant and dynamic school culture. Regular den meetings, competitions, and events keep students engaged and excited about their school experience. This increased engagement often leads to better academic performance and overall satisfaction.
- Encouraging Personal Growth and Leadership: Each Den emphasizes specific values such as integrity, kindness, and aspiration. This helps students develop important character traits and leadership skills as they engage in den activities and take on responsibilities within their den.
- Promoting Inclusion and Diversity: By mixing students of different ages and backgrounds within each den, the system promotes inclusion and appreciation for diversity. It helps students learn to work with and respect individuals who may be different from themselves.
- Providing Support and Mentorship: The den system allows for more personalized attention and support from teachers and peers. Older students often mentor younger ones within their den, providing guidance and fostering a nurturing environment.

Sorting
Students who attended Caldwell during the 2024-2025 school year will remain in the same den. Students who are new to Caldwell this school year will be sorted during the first week of school and will bring home a den letter.
Den App
There is an app that will keep track of all den points as well as inform you of your student's achievements. You will be able to see how your child is contributing to their den and points they have individually earned for behaviors and academic accomplishments.
After your child has been sorted into their den, you will receive detailed information about how to access and navigate the app.
