News from Candice News from Candice

Hello Cougar families,

Happy September! I hope you all have some fun plans to celebrate the three-day weekend. I am looking forward to getting out into nature for some mountain biking!

Here at CME, we have been busy wrapping up our beginning-of-year i-Ready assessments, and our students have been working incredibly hard. Next week, we will be kicking off our Ninja Nation Fundraiser, so stay tuned for more details!

STEAM Education

Our 2nd graders have officially kicked off a brand-new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) unit! Students are diving hands-on into real-world problem solving as they design, collaborate, and bring creative ideas to life. From building and testing models to investigating how things work, our young thinkers are already engaged in incredible, high-energy learning. Thanks to Ms. DeLeon and Ms. Hollist for bringing fun and critical thinking to their lessons!

Be sure to check out the photos below to see our 2nd-grade scientists, artists, and engineers in action!

Storybook Sprouts

Our library was filled with giggles, tiny pages turning, and plenty of craft fun yesterday as we hosted our very first Storybook Sprouts! We had the absolute best time welcoming our littlest Firelight neighbors (ages 0–2) and their caregivers into our school. Watching our future learners explore books, get creative, and connect with one another brought so much energy and joy to our building!

There was so much interest that we had to add another day next week as well! We will be looking to add more Wednesdays as we get it all figured out. A big shout-out to Ms. Troxel and Ms. Burke for hosting our CME neighborhood friends.! See below for more information and registration!

With gratitude,

Candice
