Principal's Update
11/24/2025
Good Morning Memorial Families,
I truly cannot believe that it is Thanksgiving week already. The school year is flying by!
Thank you to all of our families for your participation in literacy night. Over 200 children engaged in activities from reading with therapy dogs to writing shared stories in a glow room. The book fair was also a smashing success and all in all it was an amazing night. On Friday we delivered to Reading Buddy animals to any child who was unable to receive one on the night of literacy night. I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. We totally unerestimated the number of people who were going to attend. We think that we have handed all of the owed buddies to students who were waiting, but if you think we still owe your child a reading buddy, please reach out to Leah Hagen at lhagen@mursd.org and she will make sure we get it to your child. Happy Reading!
With conference days upon us, I want all families to know that both Lauren and I are here and able to meet with you before/after your child’s conference. We do plan to try to attend some of the student-led conferences that are happening in grades three and four, but please let us know if you would like to speak with either of us and we will make some time for you while you are here. Of course, we are always happy to meet with you anytime, so if next week is not convenient for you, just call the office and we can schedule a different time to speak.
I wish all of our families a joyful Thanksgiving, and I hope that wherever your travels take you over the next week, that you are able to enjoy good food and good company together.
Have a wonderful week, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Warmly,
Wendy
