What is Special Education Connections?

A newsletter targeted to connect our families with news, resources, and important information for families whose children are accessing an IEP within Del Mar Union School District.

Trimester 3 Progress Reports

Your child’s case manager will be providing you with a copy of trimester three progress notes related to your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives no later than May 30, 2025. These notes serve as an important update on your child’s progress and support our ongoing efforts to ensure you are well-informed.

We encourage you to review the progress notes carefully. If you have questions after receiving the notes, please plan to connect with your child’s case manager at the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year, as case managers will not be available during the summer recess.

Thank You to Our Special Education Parent Liaisons Thank You to Our Special Education Parent Liaisons

As you know, this was our first year implementing Special Education Parent Liaisons at school sites, a support designed to strengthen communication and collaboration between families and schools. Each liaison has been available to offer guidance to families while also supporting inclusive practices within their school communities. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and dedication our Parent Liaisons have invested in this important work. Please join us in thanking them for their partnership and commitment to students and families. To those currently serving in this role, we sincerely hope to welcome you back next year.

From our Directors

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your ongoing partnership in developing meaningful and individualized education plans for your children. Your collaboration, support, and dedication have been essential in promoting student success and growth, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together in support of each learner.

Please note that our teachers will begin their well-earned summer break on May 31, 2025, and will be unavailable until school resumes in the fall. If you have any questions or immediate concerns during the summer, we encourage you to contact the district office at 858-755-9301, where a member of our administrative team will be available to assist you.

Thank you once again for your continued collaboration. We wish you and your family a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer.
