Dear Families,

With President's Day in our midst, we have a wonderful opportunity to talk with our students about leadership — what it means and how even our youngest learners can practice being leaders every day.

In PreK, leadership does not look like standing at a podium or making big speeches. It looks like helping a friend clean up, choosing kind words, following directions the first time, and taking responsibility for classroom jobs. Through simple, daily routines, we are helping your children grow into confident, capable leaders.

Each student has opportunities to serve through classroom jobs such as line leader, door holder, snack helper, prayer helper, and clean-up captain. These roles foster responsibility, teamwork, and independence. When children are trusted with meaningful tasks, they begin to see that their actions matter. They learn that leadership starts with serving others.

The Bible gives us a beautiful picture of leadership in Mark 10:45:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”

During Bible time, we will also talk about the importance of praying for our leaders — in our school, our community, and our country. 1 Timothy 2:1–2 reminds us to pray for those in authority so that we may live peaceful and godly lives. Even our youngest students can learn that prayer is one powerful way we can support those who lead us.

Thank you for partnering with us as we grow little leaders who serve with joyful hearts. We are so proud of the independence and responsibility we see developing in your children each day!
