April 29, 2026

It has made the staff so happy to see how joyful your children were when they returned to school on Monday! It feels like we are running full speed towards spring and the end of the year. We have our state mandated testing, SAS, approaching for 3rd and 4th graders. This will happen the week of May 18th - 22nd so please make sure that your children get enough sleep and attend school.
Please save May 19th from 4:30 - 6:00 for our open house which is now called our Celebration of Learning. All families can attend for any part of the 90 minutes. The purpose is to visit your child(ren)'s rooms and the specials rooms and see all the wonderful projects that they've worked on this year.
In addition, we hope to see many K, 1st, and 2nd grade families at our last school sing on May 15th at the usual 2:00 time.
Thank you,
Leah Wheelan, Principal

Wear Layers
The heat is off in the school and it is quite chilly in the morning and warms up as the day goes on. Please send your children with warmer layers.
Kindergarten Registration and Enrollment Days
Registration is open for kindergarten for this coming fall. If you have a child who will start kindergarten next year, please call the office at 603-448-2945 and we will get you started. We are hosting two enrollment days on May 8th and 15th so that you and your child can come to school for an hour.
What Parents Need to Do About Worry, Anxiety, and Depression - May 6th at LMS at 6:00
The Lebanon School District is pleased to welcome Lynn Lyons, a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in Concord, New Hampshire with more than 35 years specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults and children. Lynn will be presenting on "What Parents Need to Know (and DO!) about Worry, Anxiety and Depression."
Based on parent feedback, we have moved up the time of Lynn's presentation to 6-7:30 p.m. at Lebanon Middle School. The LMS PTO will be serving free pizza starting at 5:30 p.m. This presentation is geared toward families with children in Kindergarten through 12th Grade. Free childcare will be available on-site (for Lebanon children 12 and under), courtesy of the Lebanon Middle School PTO and Lebanon High School Big Buddies Club.
Please register for this free event by May 1. Click here for more information, and to register.

Please make sure to announce your child when you arrive for pick up. It slows down our dismissal process if you do not announce your child on the app. Additionally, please remember to change your child's pickup in the calendar for afterschool programs/activities. They will go home the way it says in the app. Thank you.

Notes from the Nurse
The Sun is Out . . . Students go outside for both recess and PE during the day. Please be sure to apply sunscreen to your child BEFORE school. Staff do not apply sunscreen to students. Students may bring in sunscreen and apply themselves, but please make sure it is lotion and not the spray sunscreen. You may also send in hats and sunglasses for your child to wear for sun protection.
Water Bottles . . . With temperatures rising, it is really important for students to have a water bottle with them at school. Water bottles only really need to contain water for students during the day. Adding frozen fruit or cucumber slices to water can make drinking water more interesting!
Try some of these alternative hydrating drink recipes this summer:
Blueberry Lemon Hydrator
1 cup coconut water
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (blended and strained)
1/2 lemon, squeezed
1 tsp raw honey
Instructions: Mix until dissolved and chill.
Simple Citrus Electrolyte Drink
4 cups water
1/4 cup fresh orange juice + 2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions: Mix until dissolved and chill.
Ticks are back too . . . Should your child have a tick attached to them at school, I will attempt to remove it. I notify parents of the situation in order to monitor the site. I recommend that parents check in with your childโs medical provider to determine if treatment is necessary. More specifically, parents can call and ask to speak to a triage nurse who will then ask you several questions to determine the next best step for your child.
Please refer to the Center for Disease Controlโs best practice guidance on TICKS: https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/index.html
Take good care,
