Principal Message
A long first week back from Spring Break has come and gone. Things are getting wet and mucky outdoors, waterproof shoes, splash pants and dry clothes are the order of the day.
On Wednesday we had Hot lunch sponsored by Drax.
This week marked our return to Bus to Swim and that has necessitate some schedule changes with our 4-6 Basketball, Grandparents program and our visit to GT.
The visit to Grand Trunk is now on the 15th instead of the 16th. Basketball has also been moved to Wednesday afterschool. Permission slips have been sent home.
An additional note is that 1-3 basketball this week is cancelled on Monday.
You will see in a number of our class pictures, they are utilizing Spheros which have been borrowed from the GYPSD technology library.

As you all know this will be the last year of Wildwood School. As part of that I have been sharing bits of our schools history. If you have bits of history or artifacts that you would like to share please email or call Mr. Stoyles so we can share parts of the school's past as we get ready for a new future in September.
As always feel free to reach out regarding any questions or concerns by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca.

Wildwood School: Long History
Wildwood School can trace its roots back for over a century, though multiple buildings, renovations and even town names. Opening first in 1913, when Wildwood was still named Junkins, up through 2026 there have been many changes. Below you can see an artist rendering of the various buildings as well as photograph from before the last major renovation in 1986.
FOPLS
Our students from Evansview, Wildwood, and Grand Trunk High School are coming together under one roof — and we want to make sure they have a playground that brings them together too!
The Friends of Pembina Learning Society (FOPLS) is running a raffle fundraiser to help create a fun, safe, and engaging space where kids can play, grow, and make memories for years to come.
Your support will help make this playground a place our children are proud to call their own!
Would you like to volunteer at Wildwood School?
