Carlton County 4-H is grateful for our volunteers and we need YOU to consider joining the fun. Volunteers who fill two time slots will receive a wristband to enter the Carlton County Fair. Select any or all of the opportunities by completing the Google Form Carlton County 4-H Volunteer sign up.

Wednesday Night Clinics are a great way for 4-H youth to prepare for the Carlton County Fair! All horses will need up-to-date coggins to participate! Cloverbuds MUST be led no matter their riding ability. Wednesday Night Clinics start June 11th at 6 p.m. at the Carlton County Fair Grounds covering a wide variety of topics.

Carlton County 4-H would like to extend a huge thank you to the NRA Foundation for their generous grant supporting our Shooting Sports & Wildlife program.

With their help, we were able to purchase new archery equipment, which meant:

• 12 new and novice shooters could join without any financial burden on families

• 27 youth were able to continue building their archery skills with safe, high-quality gear

This support has removed barriers, opened doors for new participants, and ensured that our youth have the right equipment to learn, grow, and succeed. We are so grateful for this investment in our young people and their future in archery.

FairEntry will close July 10th. FairEntry is different from Animal ID. FairEntry is the computer program families use to register their exhibits for the Carlton County Fair. All enrolled families will receive a fair letter with volunteering opportunities for the Carlton County Fair, Trophy Sponsor Forms, and information about the Blue Ribbon Auction. The 2025 Carlton County Premium Book is available online or if you would like a printed copy mailed to you, please complete the Carlton County Premium Book sign - up.

Join us Saturday, August 9, for a fun day at the Northeast 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife Regional Classic at the Hibbing Rifle Range! This is an opportunity for you to showcase your shooting sports and wildlife skills while learning from peers, coaches, and volunteers in a positive environment. State Shoot paperwork was handed out at practice on June 27th. Please return by July 14th to Archery coaches or the Extension office by July 16th. An Archery coach and a Wildlife coach must sign the paperwork before turning it in. Let us know if you have any questions.

For youth in grades 3+ (families welcome)! We’re excited to launch a brand new in-person opportunity for youth to experience the world of crop scouting up close and personal! Join us for Minnesota 4-H Crop Scouting Summer Field Days and dive into hands-on plant science fun!
