🎉 Celebrating Success at Zitzman! 🎉
Attendance
🎉 Congratulations to Mrs. Meininger’s 4th grade class and Mrs. Herbst’s Kindergarten class for spelling CHIEFS for the second time and earning extra Chromebook time! A big shout-out as well to Miss David’s 2nd grade class for spelling CHIEFS for the third time and earning a popcorn snack! And congratulations to Mrs. Gaines’ class for spelling CHIEFS for the very first time! 🎉
Each time a class earns perfect attendance for the day, they receive a letter. Once they spell CHIEFS, they earn a fun prize to celebrate their commitment to showing up every day!
Good attendance is so important—it helps students build strong learning habits, stay on top of lessons, and feel connected to their classmates. Being present each day ensures that students don’t miss important instruction, group activities, and classroom discussions that build understanding. Regular attendance also teaches responsibility and sets students up for success not only in school, but in life.
Bus Expectations
We always want safety to be the most important thing for bus rides, and we want to work together to keep all students safe during their rides. Reinforcing expectations at home is important to support a positive bus experience for everyone.
Please take a moment to review bus rules and safety with your child. Emphasize why these rules matter — they help keep everyone safe and allow the driver to focus on driving. This is especially important as we have many upcoming field trips and students who may be riding the bus for the first time.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure safe, respectful, and smooth bus rides for all students.

Your presence matters – and kids notice.

From me to you...
Dear Zitzman Families,
As we turn the calendar to October, the fall season reminds us of change, growth, and new opportunities. At Zitzman, each day is filled with students learning, creating, and showing the kindness that makes our school family strong.
This time of year also brings the start of “germ season.” A good night’s sleep, healthy habits, and even giving backpacks a good clean-out—or a quick run through the washing machine—can make a big difference in helping students stay healthy and focused.
Our Lost and Found (located in the SACC hallway) is already filling up with water bottles, sweatshirts, and lunch boxes. Please encourage your child to check if they are missing something, or you are welcome to stop by before or after school through the SACC entrance to look through the items. During school hours, please come through the front office, sign in as a visitor, and a staff member will walk you down. If the collection continues to grow, we will set items out on tables for a few days to make it easier for families to look through.
Thank you for partnering with us to support the well-being of every student. Together, we’re making this fall a season of learning, growth, and connection.
Leading & Learning,
Dr. Sladek
