The Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship focuses on the vital role of local government and the importance of civic engagement. Jacob’s winning essay highlighted the meaningful connection between local leaders and the residents they serve.

LHS ALUM INSPIRES THEATER STUDENTS
Livingston High School’s theatre department recently welcomed back Class of 2014 alumnus Jared Goldsmith, who spent time speaking with current students about his career as a professional actor.

We are grateful to Jared for giving back to his alma mater and inspiring the next generation of LHS performers!
HMS TEAM WINS STOCK MARKET GAME
Congratulations are in order for our brilliant student investors at Heritage Middle School! Our HMS team officially clinched First Place in the middle school division of the New Jersey North Spring Competition for The Stock Market Game.
Sponsored by the SIFMA Foundation (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association), this dynamic global capital markets simulation challenges students to invest a hypothetical $100,000 portfolio in real-time stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Over the course of the spring session, our students conducted research, tracked global financial news, and made strategic, high-stakes decisions to outpace the competition.
YUG SINHA WINS TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
Riker Hill fifth grader Yug Sinha won First Prize and the Championship Title in the Under-11 category at the USA Table Tennis Northeast Regional Championship on May 16, 2026 — one of the most competitive youth table tennis tournaments in the region!
This championship is a major milestone in junior table tennis because it brings together many of the highest-rated and strongest young players from across the Northeast United States. The tournament plays an important role in the junior competitive circuit and is closely watched for future opportunities for national-level training programs and national team selection. NEW BLUE LIGHT SAFETY BEACON PROCEDURES
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We have recently installed Blue Light Safety Beacons at the primary entry points of every school building to provide an immediate visual alert during a lockdown or emergency drill.
If you see a flashing blue light upon arrival, a lockdown is in progress. Please follow these mandatory steps:
Do Not Attempt to Enter: Entry points must remain secured for school and law enforcement use.
Move Away From the Building: Immediately retreat to a safe distance or return to your vehicle.
Wait for Clearance: Do not approach until the lights are deactivated or you receive official notification.
Do Not Call the School: Phone lines must remain clear for emergency coordination.
Notifications: For mandated drills, the principal will email the school community. In a real emergency, updates will be sent via our mass notification system. Permanent signage is located next to each beacon for quick reference. These tools ensure visitors do not unknowingly enter a sensitive situation, allowing responders to focus entirely on safety.
NEW WEBSITE REPOSITORY FOR LEGAL NOTICES
In compliance with New Jersey State Law (NJ S4654), which went into effect on March 1, 2026, Livingston Public Schools has launched a new official repository for all mandated legal notices.
This change is designed to provide the LPS community with streamlined, centralized access to district public notices in one convenient location. We encourage parents and community members to visit our website to stay informed and view the latest updates. Click here to view the district's Legal Notices page.
PROCESS FOR ADDRESSING PARENT CONCERNS
Livingston Public Schools strives to respond to concerns and/or questions as quickly and effectively as possible. In a school system, as in any organization, the “chain of command” refers to communication levels of authority in the school district. The philosophy behind the chart in the link below is to refer community members to those people in the organization who can best solve any concerns or questions that may arise, and then direct them to the appropriate people if issues are not able to be effectively addressed at the first level.
