HAWK NEWS - 10/30/26
Dear Harwood Families,
I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween weekend! Thank you to all the students who participated in our Red Ribbon Spirit Week. From wearing Harwood blue to dressing like future professionals and filling our parade with orange and black, our Hawks showed their school spirit! It was a great reminder to make healthy choices, support one another, and take pride in our school community. I hope you enjoy all the pictures!
Thank you also to the students and families who supported Student Council by contributing to our “Tattoo a Teacher” fundraiser. Your generosity helped make this a fun and memorable week!
A special thank-you to the Warren Mott band for leading our students in a fun parade around the school! Having these talented high school students join us reminds our Hawks that they are part of the larger Warren Consolidated Schools family. We appreciate their example and the opportunity to build connections across our school community!
As we head into November, let’s help all our Hawks make the most of each school day by attending regularly and arriving on time. Being here for the start of school at 8:50 a.m. helps students settle into their routines, connect with classmates, and get ready to learn. Every day is an opportunity to build skills, grow confidence, and make progress!
From all of us at Harwood where it's always GREAT TO BE A HAWK!
Mr. Clark

HARWOOD PTO
Get Involved
Our outstanding Harwood PTO plays an important role in building our school community by organizing events and creating opportunities for students and families to connect. Please watch for PTO meeting dates, family events, and volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We would love to have you involved!
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, please know that our commitment to your child’s academic and personal growth remains strong. We look forward to partnering with you to create a positive, supportive learning environment in which every student can thrive.
BIRTHDAY TREAT POLICY
In an effort to provide a consistent birthday treat policy that allows our students to focus on learning and respects the health, dietary, and social and emotional needs of our students, we will be following the guidelines listed below when sending in birthday treats.
SUGGESTED/ACCEPTED ITEMS
- Treats will not be consumed in class and will be passed out at the end of the day and taken home in children's backpacks.
- Non-Food Items (pencils/stickers).
- Individually wrapped Hostess Cupcakes or individually wrapped Little Debbie Brownies would be acceptable.
- Pencils, books, or other small non-food items make great birthday treat alternatives.
NOT ACCEPTED
- No homemade treats are allowed.
- No pizza parties, flowers, or balloons.
- For clarity, this means no group containers of cupcakes or cookies even those from stores.
CELL PHONE POLICY
As a parent of 3 growing children, I understand how important it is to know that your child is safe and that you can reach them when necessary. However, personal cell phones are not the appropriate way for students to communicate with families during the school day. If a student needs to contact a parent or guardian, they should work with their teacher and use the school office.
As a reminder, cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic communication devices (ECDs) must remain in students’ backpacks and may not be used during the school day. These devices are the student’s responsibility, and taking pictures or videos at school is strictly prohibited. Any device used during the school day or used to take pictures or videos will be collected and held in the office.
HOW TO VIEW REPORT CARDS
As the district moves into a digital platform, report cards will not be printed and sent home with students.
Please refer to the instructions below on how to view your student's report card.
HOW TO UPDATE CONTACTS IN POWERSCHOOL
Do you need to change your phone number or email? Do you need to add an emergency contact for your student? If so, please click on the link below for instructions on how to add, edit, or delete a contact.
Reminder: Every student should have at least 3 emergency contacts with phone numbers.
LUNCH MENU
Please click on the school lunch menu graphic for the lunch menu. There is always 2 options to choose from or you are welcome to send a lunch from home with your student.
