Board of Trustees Recognize Students at August Meeting
Our Board of Trustees was proud to recognize some outstanding members of the Elgin ISD family at Monday night’s board meeting!
Booker T. Washington students led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
TEAM (Texas Elementary Art Meet) students from Elgin Elementary and Neidig Elementary were recognized for earning top honors for their artwork at this statewide TAEA visual arts event. Those students are:
Elgin Elementary - Mrs. Ashley Smith
3rd: Luis Sanchez, Jonathan “Jett” Parsons
4th: Sebastian Reyes, Dahlia Smith and Camilo Martinez
5th: Alondra Clenfuegos, Christina Espinoza and Landon Ruiz

Fatima Lopez
Elgin High School students Katelyn Anderson and Ella Jeschke were recognized for representing Elgin ISD at the Educators Rising National Conference in Portland after qualifying at the Texas TAFE State Conference.
Elgin ISD’s BBQ team made history this summer as the first team in Elgin’s history to advance to the National High School BBQ Championship, competing against more than 100 teams from across the country. Congrats to: Grace Hagen, Ana Sustaita, Bethanee Mackenzie, and Katherine Rios. The BBQ Team Coach is Madeleine Musick.
Elgin FFA’s Preston Maass and Aislyn Plummer earned the prestigious Lone Star Degree, the highest degree awarded to a Texas FFA student.
Maggie Howard, EISD Director of CTE, P-TECH and CCMR, received the Honorary Lone Star Degree—the association’s highest honor for an individual—nominated by Elgin FFA advisors.
We are incredibly proud of the talent, dedication and achievement represented by these students and staff. Way to make Elgin proud, Wildcats!
At Monday’s Board meeting, EISD Executive Director of Bond Projects Rainey Lann gave an update on all the exciting construction projects happening across the district. Check out the details in the document below.

If your student ends up in the nurse's office, we need to know their health history, allergies, medications, and emergency contacts — before it happens, not after. We also need your most current information on file in case of an emergency.

❗ Tile still there? It's not complete.
Incomplete forms can delay your student's access to:
🏥 Health-related services (including help from the nurse when they need it most)

🚌 Transportation

Reminder: EISD Cell Phone/Device Policy
In accordance with House Bill 1481, Elgin ISD requires all students to leave their personal communication devices at home or power them off and store them away, out of sight, while on school property during the school day. The school day begins at the signal of the first bell and ends at the signal of the dismissal bell, and includes tutorial periods, all instructional time, lunch, and passing periods.
