Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 19th December 2025
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Our Memorable Nativity
Our KS1 and EYFS children presented two wonderful performances of ‘Knock Knock! The Nativity’ in the spectacular surroundings of the Cathedral on Monday. Parents, carers and extended families, along with members of the Cathedral community and visitors to the Cathedral, were treated to a joyful retelling of the nativity story, performed with confidence and enthusiasm by the children. From the confident narrators and actors in Year 2 to showbiz Year 1 sheep, and from sleepy Nursery singers to sparkling Reception stars, every child played their part beautifully to bring the story to life. A big thank you to our staff for their hard work behind the scenes and to families for their continued support. Well done to all the pupils for such a memorable performance!
Christmas Celebrations
What a festive time was had on Wednesday! Everyone looked great in their Christmassy tops and jumpers, ready for a delicious lunch. Our school kitchen did an amazing job of cooking over 200 Christmas dinners, huge thanks to them. The catering team also provided crackers and decorations and we enjoyed Christmas music whilst eating. Thanks as well to our lunchtime staff for serving so many meals, and to all the class staff for joining in.
On Thursday, a special visitor arrived, much to our surprise! Father Christmas visited the younger children and gave them a present. He also found time to pop into our KS2 classes to say hello. Thank you for squeezing us into your busy schedule Santa Claus!
Nursery Christmas Tree
The nursery children have worked really hard on creating a Christmas tree for the Ripon Spa Garden Winter Wonderland Christmas tree competition. If you do visit the Winter Wonderland this weekend please vote for their tree, there is a cash prize for the winner and they already have our eyes on some new exciting resources!
