๐ Celebrating Dr. Kingโs Legacy in the Library
As we approach Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 19th, the library is highlighting a special collection to help your students reflect on Dr. Kingโs life and the Civil Rights Movement.
We have curated a display of age-appropriate biographies, picture books, and illustrated histories suitable for all grade levels. Whether you are looking for a powerful read-aloud to spark discussion or independent reading material for your students, please stop by! The collection will be displayed front and center through next week.
โ January Joy: Live Stream Read-Aloud & Snowman Hunt!
We are celebrating the season with some winter fun in the library!
๐ฅ๏ธ Live Stream Read-Aloud Mark your calendars for this Thursday, January 15th at 10:30 a.m. We will be hosting a live stream read-aloud of the book "How to Catch a Snowman" for your classes to enjoy. The watch link will be sent via email on Wednesday. :)
โ The Great Snowman Hunt Get those crayons ready! You will soon receive classroom copies of snowmen for your students to color. We are also launching a school-wide Snowman Hunt!
The Goal: Students will find a hidden snowman hung up around the school.
The Prize: Once they find a snowman, they can bring it to the LRC to exchange it for a cool bookmark.
The Rule: Please remind students there is a limit of one bookmark per student, but they are always welcome to help a friend find one!
We can't wait to see their colorful creations and help them hunt for snowmen!

Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips
Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.
Vivi Updates - Extended Screen
For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!
YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. But fear not! there is a workaround.
If you want to continue to use YouTube videos and have students access them you can embed them in google slides. If you have any questions about how to embed videos in your slides please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
