Morton News

Dear Morton Families,

Welcome Back! What a fun first week of school it has been! Last week, students met their teachers, reviewed school-wide expectations and procedures, and enjoyed community-building activities in their classes. This week, students will attend grade-level expectation assemblies and dive into course content!

Our modified block schedule will be our regular routine going forward. Students will attend Periods 1–8 on period days (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday), odd blocks (1, 3, 5, 7) on Wednesday, and even blocks (2, 4, 6, 8) on Thursday. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, students will begin their day with Club Advisement — that location can be found on their schedule in Infinite Campus.

Monday, August 24th

Football

Team meeting in Multipurpose Room - starting at 3:15pm - 4:00pm

Please turn in physicals before practice or communicate with coaches if/when you have a physical scheduled

If you do not have a physical turned in but still are interested in Football, please plan on signing up and attending the meeting

Volleyball

7th grade only tryouts in Gym, please bring athletic shorts/shoes and a water bottle - starting at 3:15pm - 5:00pm

Please turn in physicals before tryouts or communicate with coaches if/when you have a physical scheduled

Tuesday, August 25th

Football

First day of practice, bring athletic shorts/shoes/cleats - change in the locker room and be out to the football field by 3:15pm

Wednesday, August 26th

Football

Practice will be held everyday after school beginning at 3:15 - athletes are expected to be changed and ready on the FOOTBALL FIELD by this time

Volleyball

7th and 8th grade athletes that are called back will participate in the final day of tryouts (those students names will be posted by gym in the morning before school begins)

Cross Country

7th and 8th grade students will meet in the Multipurpose Room after school by 3:15pm.

Morton t-shirts will be on sale in the main office until Friday, August 28th at 3:15 p.m. Students can bring a copy of the order form below, or pick up a copy of the order forms that are located in the office. T-shirt prices are included on the order form. Cash, check, or credit cards are acceptable forms of payment.
