Welcome Back to 2026 – Time to Reset & Refocus
Welcome back, and happy 2026! As we begin the next chapter of our school year, this is a perfect time to reset, refocus, and move forward together with purpose and positivity.
This past week, our staff spent time reviewing and recommitting to our schoolwide expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind. They also revisited classroom structures and routines to ensure consistency and support for all students as we head into the remainder of the year.
As part of this reset, our students and staff are focusing on identifying their ONE Word for the rest of the school year—a word that will guide their mindset, goals, and growth. The book pictured with this message helps introduce this powerful idea. We encourage you to take a few moments to ask your child what their ONE Word is and what it means to them.
We are also excited to review the results of our Winter MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment—what I like to call our “Celebration of Knowledge.” This assessment gives us a snapshot of where students are now compared to the fall and helps us plan intentional next steps as we work toward end-of-year goals.
Please mark your calendars for February 19th, which will be our February conference night. This will be a one-evening conference opportunity, held by teacher or parent request. More information will be shared soon.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong and successful rest of the school year!
Warm regards,
Tracy Schneid

Recess Guidelines- Very Important to Read and Know!
Dear Guardians-
Please be sure to be familiar with these guidelines below. All students must be prepared to go outside. When we have snow and the temperature permits our students to be outside, we would love for them to play in the snow appropriately. To be allowed to play in the snow they must have all of the following:
Snow Pants, Coat/Jacket, Boots and Gloves
They DO NOT need these items to go outside, but do need them if they want to play in the snow. We have areas for the kids play in - they love it! They make snow angels, build snowmen- but they must be dressed appropriately to do so.
Next event is Jan. 28- Anxiety- Practical Strategies for Parents
Attendance Matters
Regular school attendance plays an important role in helping children grow as learners and as confident members of our school community. Being at school each day helps students build strong learning habits, feel connected to their classmates and teachers, and experience success both academically and socially.
Families can support positive attendance by:
Establishing consistent morning and bedtime routines
Scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible
Talking with your child about the importance of being present and ready to learn each day
We also encourage families to remind children that school is a safe, welcoming, and fun place to be. When students are absent, their teachers and classmates truly miss them!
Every day at school helps a child grow — academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for partnering with us to support strong attendance and a love of learning.
