Leadership Message
During Catholic Education Week, we are reflecting on this year’s theme, The Power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us to grow in faith, use our gifts and care for one another. We see that power when students welcome someone new, offer help, speak up for what is right or keep trying when learning feels difficult.
This year’s featured saint is St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, who showed his faith through service to people who were poor and in need. His example reminds us that following Jesus is not only something we learn about in class. It is something we live through our choices and the way we treat others.
Thank you to our parents and guardians for choosing Catholic education and for walking alongside us as your children learn and grow. The partnership between home, school and parish helps our students grow in knowledge, faith, compassion and a sense of responsibility for others. We are grateful to share that journey with you.

As a dual track English and Ukranian school, we celebrate the richness of languages and cultures in our community. To help everyone stay connected, our weekly newsletters on Smore can be translated into the language of your choice. This feature is also helpful for our English as an Additional Language (EAL) families. Simply click on the menu in the top right corner of the newsletter to select your preferred language.
Month of the Holy Rosary
October is the Month of the Holy Rosary, a special time to honour Mary and reflect on the life of Jesus through prayer. The Rosary invites us to slow down, bring our hopes and worries to God, and trust in His loving presence.
As a school community, may we follow Mary’s example of faith, courage and openness to God. Whether we pray a full Rosary, a single decade or one Hail Mary, every prayer can help us grow closer to Jesus and to one another.
Catholic Education Week
Lost and Found Items
Please have a look at the lost and found items in the front atrium over the next few weeks. It is full of jackets, water bottles, shoes and even swimsuits and googles. On Friday November 6th, all of the remaining items will be donated.
Evidence of Learning
During the last week of October, students will bring home evidence of learning from their classes. This may include assignments, assessments, or other examples of what they have been working on. Please take a few minutes to look through it together and ask your child what they’ve learned or what they feel proud of. It’s a helpful way to start a conversation about how their learning is going.

Parent Societies
Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
The St. Theresa Parent Advisory Council performs many vital functions for our school community, by helping to facilitate school wide student functions and providing valuable funding to our school via fundraising. Parents involved in the PAC learn about planning and development within the school and are part of the planning process. These roles make their involvement very important to the families, administration and teachers.
Bilingual Ukrainian Catholic Parents Society (BUCPS)
Bitaemo! Sherwood Park's Ukrainian Bilingual Program began in 1980 and has seen decades of success in academic achievement, global learning, and celebration of the rich Ukrainian heritage. From Preschool/Sadochok to Grade 12, the Ukrainian Bilingual Program offers a community-minded cultural environment along with an enhanced academic curriculum. BUCPS Mission is to promote, advocate, support and foster cultural and educations opportunities for students in the Ukrainian Bilingual Program.
