MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

CHS Community,

I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing Spring Break! While many of us took time to recharge, several of our student groups were busy representing our school on the road. We are incredibly proud of our baseball team who traveled to Florida, our softball team who competed in Myrtle Beach, and our marching band who had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Disney World.

As we return to campus, we are officially entering the busy homestretch of the 2025-26 school year.

The upcoming weeks will fly by as we prepare to close out the year with several significant events and milestones, including:

  • State Testing

  • AP Testing

  • Prom

  • Graduation

With the excitement of these end-of-year activities approaching, it is crucial that our students remain focused. Please remind your children that we will continue to hold them to the same high academic and behavioral expectations we have maintained throughout the entire year. We expect them to stay engaged, make good choices, and finish the year strong.

END OF COURSE (EOC)/OHIO STATE TEST (OST) TESTING

As we head into spring, we want to ensure you have the upcoming April 2026 Ohio State Test (OST) and End of Course (EOC) exam schedule for your students. Please review the dates below so your student can be prepared and well-rested for their specific testing days.

Here is the testing breakdown by subject:

English Language Arts (ELA 8 & ELA II)

  • Part I: Tuesday, April 14 (EVEN)

  • Part II: Thursday, April 16 (ODD)

Math (Math 8, Algebra I & Geometry)

  • Parts I & II: Thursday, April 23 (EVEN)

Science (Science 8 & Biology)

  • Parts I & II: Tuesday, April 28 (ODD)

Social Studies (American History & American Government)

  • Parts I & II: Thursday, April 30 (EVEN)

Please note that the school will operate on a modified "Testing Schedule" on each of these dates. The decision was made to have a "block" schedule those days, consisting of four 51-minute periods instead of eight 23-minute periods.

Looking forward to having students back in the building tomorrow, Tuesday, April 07.

The 2026 AP Exams will be administered in schools over two weeks in May: May 4–8 and May 11–15.

AP Exam Timing

Most AP Exams are 2–3 hours long.

AP Exam Structure

The first part of the exam usually consists of multiple-choice questions.

  • You will choose 1 of 4–5 answer choices for each question.
  • Your total exam score on the multiple-choice section is based only on the number of questions answered correctly. You won’t receive or lose points for incorrect answers or unanswered questions.

The second part of the exam usually consists of free-response questions that require you to generate your own responses. Depending on the exam, your responses could be in the form of an essay, a solution to a problem, or a spoken response.

AP Digital Portfolio Submission Deadlines

The following subjects require work to be submitted through the AP Digital Portfolio by the deadlines listed below:

  • AP Seminar and AP Research: April 30, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET), is the deadline for students to submit performance tasks as final.

  • AP Computer Science Principles: April 30, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET), is the deadline for students to submit their Create performance task as final.

  • AP Art and Design: May 8, 2026 (8 p.m. ET), is the deadline for students to submit their 3 portfolio components as final.

Important

You’ll need to remember your College Board student account information to access your digital AP Exam in Bluebook on exam day. Saving your password on your device won’t work.
