Exam Week April 22nd - April 26th
Believe it or not, next week is the end of Term 2. Final exams will be taken using the following schedule:
Monday, April 22nd: Regular schedule, no exams
Tuesday, April 23rd: 1st & 4th hour exams
Wednesday, April 24th: 2nd & 5th hour exams
Thursday, April 25th: 3rd & 6th hour exams
Friday, April 26th: 1/2 day, 11:20 am dismissal
Not all classes will have a final exam, some have final projects. Please check with your child regarding their individual schedule. Information may also be found in the Google Classroom for each class.
Students will have the opportunity to increase their exam grade or final project grade based on meeting growth goals on the NWEA tests that will be taken next week. Therefore, final grades for Term 2 classes will not be available until the week of May 13th.
May Term
Students will begin May Term on Monday, April 29th. Their schedule will be based on if they mastered the standards in each of their scheduled courses during the 1st and 2nd terms. If they earned full credit, they will be scheduled into May Term courses. If they did not earn full credit, they will be assigned to credit recovery to hopefully earn the credit needed to move onto the next grade level. Student schedules for May Term will be available in Skyward the end of next week.
Jr. Sr. Prom Information
The Jr. Sr. Prom will be held next Saturday, April 27th from 7:00 - 11:00 pm at Woodland Acres in Bronson. Tickets are on sale now and are $30 each. Doors will open at 7:00 pm. A photographer will be on site and will be taking photos of all attendees at 7:30 pm (for free). Students will then have access to the photos afterwards.
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
The following students were selected as Outstanding Students of the 3rd Marking period at the BACC:
- James Ware- Welding Engineering Technologies
- Kamryn Rinkel- Business Management, Marketing & Technology
- Matthew Arver- Health Professions Fundamentals + College
Way to represent Bronson Jr. Sr. High School. We are very proud of you! Congratulations!
Spring NWEA Testing
Students will be taking their Spring NWEA tests next week using the following schedule:
Tuesday, April 30th - Reading
Wednesday, May 1st - Math
Thursday, May 2nd - Science
All testing will take place first thing in the morning. We will then follow a 2-hour Delay schedule.
All students have "Growth Goals" that were established based on their Fall scores. New this Spring: When a student meets their Growth Goal in a subject area test, they will earn a 10% increase in their final exam score/a final project or test in that subject area. Our hope is that our students will take these tests seriously and they are all able to meet their goals in each of the 3 subject areas that are tested.
IMPORTANT: Materials to Monitor
We have been made aware of several books that students have brought to school that contain inappropriate (pornographic) material. While the back of the book or inside cover may look/sound harmless, please take a moment to skim the material that your child is reading/know what your child is reading. If you are aware of material in question, please let us know using this Google Form, which is aligned with Board Policy 9130. https://tinyurl.com/bronsonbooks
Additionally, we have also had several instances of students when students have had inappropriate material (pictures/videos) on their cell phones. Please be checking your child's device regularly to make sure that they do not have material on it that could have negative consequences. Please speak with your child(ren) about the dangers of putting something out there. Once it is sent, you never know where it will end up and it can never be completely "erased"/deleted.
Finally, I have been told that there are some items on Tik Tok that are very concerning. If your child has access to this, I strongly encourage you to be talking with them/reviewing their account with them.

Student Dress Code/Handbook Reminders
With warm weather on the way, please be sure to review the dress code. To note: Students should make sure that shorts, skirts, and dresses are at least knuckle-length as measured when fists are made with shoulders relaxed and arms fully extended down on the sides. Shirts must have at least a 3 finger-width amount of material covering the shoulder. Thank you for reviewing this with your child(ren).
Afternoon Pick-up Reminder
For student safety, we ask that all students who need to be picked up get picked up in the south (staff) lot off of Wayne Street. This area is free of student drivers and greatly reduces the chance of an accident. We ask that you please adhere to this for the safety of our students. Thank you.
ONGOING INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:
After-School Support
We are continuing to offer after-school support on Tuesday and Thursday until 4:00 pm. Please check the Daily Bulletin on our website for availability each week.
Student Chromebooks
We kindly ask that you remind your child(ren) that the Chromebook they have been issued to use is an expensive piece of technology. A new device costs $250 and a screen replacement is $50. Sadly, we are seeing what looks to be intentional damage. The handbook states (page 20), "Destruction of Technology Equipment - Knowingly and willfully..will result in the student having to reimburse the district...". Thank you for your help with this.
Viking Care Center Help is Available
As a reminder, the Viking Care Center was established as a way to give students and their families help by providing items that are needed. We currently have clothing, including Prom dresses, dress pants and shirts & ties, shoes, toiletries, some food items, and some laundry products available at the school. Please have your child talk with someone here at school or feel free to contact the office about the needs your family may be facing. We would love to help!
