Veteran's Day Celebration

Our Veteran's Day Celebration is planned for Wednesday, November 11th and we'd love for all our Liberty Family Veterans to celebrate with us. Even if you’ve been honored in the past, we would encourage you to attend. Our goal is to celebrate our service men and women, and to help give our students a better understanding of what it means to serve our country.

See the invitation below for details and if you'd like your Veteran included as a guest and/or in our slide show. Please complete the RSVP HERE or use the QR code found on the invitation. The event will begin with a continental breakfast for our veteran and their student-host, followed by a performance by our 2nd and 5th grade students. All veterans from all branches are welcome!

Fall Book Fair

PTA is hosting our Fall Book Fair October 26-30. Children will have an opportunity to shop during their library times. Parents can sign up for an e-wallet online instead of sending cash with their student.

Family night will be on Tuesday, October 27th, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Children can wear PJ's, visit reading rooms hosted by teachers, shop the fair with their families, participate in a lollipop pull for a chance to win a certificate towards their book fair purchase, and enjoy a yummy drink from Columbus Coffee Company.

Volunteers are needed to help students shop during the day and reorganize books after classes are dismissed. Volunteers will receive a scholastic dollar certificate towards a purchase as a thank you. Please sign up here if you are available to help.

What is a Key Communicator?

This role consists of one or a few contact persons at each school in the district who help bridge the gap between the Special Education department, parents and educators. Worthington’s Special Education Key Communicator committee strives to build positive, productive and collaborative relationships and partnerships amongst the educators and community of families whose children receive special education and related services.

We will engage in two-way communication with the goal being to provide a circle of influence where we can share out and learn from and with each other. The key communicator will convey information from their building to the committee, as well as information from the committee to their building.

If you are interested in volunteering for this role during the 26-27 school year, please reach out to your building Principal, Dr. Belair, and let him know you are interested and he will connect you with the Parent Mentor, Allison English.

The information below is being shared again due to its importance. The information below is being shared again due to its importance.

Harvest Party & Parade

Harvest Day activities and parade will be held on Friday, October 30th. Wearing a costume is completely optional. If your child chooses to wear a costume, they should come to school in the morning already dressed in their costume. Weather permitting, parents are invited to watch the costume parade beginning at 8:35 a.m. on the playground (behind the school). If it rains, we will communicate with you that the outside portion of the parade will be canceled. If you do not hear from us, please know that the parade will continue as planned.

For any student that chooses not to dress-up and/or participate in the costume parade, they are invited to visit the library during the parade time. As mentioned above, wearing a costume is completely optional and students do not need to give anyone a reason why they are choosing not to wear one.

For students who do dress-up, the costume may not include any of the following:

  • Violent language or images (no blood or anything too scary)
  • Weapons (including plastic, toy)
  • Hate speech or language/images that create a hostile or intimidating environment
  • Students are not permitted to wear masks.

If a student wants to change after the parade, they should wear street clothes under their costume so all they would have to do is remove the costume instead of using a restroom.

Teachers will communicate with families if there are additional details to share about the day regarding activities inside the classroom.

FREE Thanksgiving Meal from the Worthington Presbyterian Church

Every year, Worthington Presbyterian Church helps the Worthington Community by providing a Thanksgiving ‘box meal’ for families who may need a little help during the holiday season. The box meal includes a frozen turkey, bag of potatoes, canned vegetables, gravy , stuffing mix, brownie mix, fresh fruit, butter, and a gallon of milk.

If your family could benefit from receiving a Thanksgiving meal, please contact Mrs. Roberts, our school counselor, at (614) 450-5200 or email her at rroberts@wscloud.org.
