Wernli Library Happenings

Ready, Set, Read!

Welcome back to another year at the Wernli Library!

The Wernli Library is an exciting place to be! Books, lessons, activities, special events, author visits, book fairs and more help to make our library a place for all our Wildcat readers. All classes from Pre-Kinder through 5th grade will visit the library this school year. Please read below for some helpful information about your Wernli Library and upcoming events. If you ever need help, please reach out. Happy Reading!

Welcome to the Library!

All our Wernli Wildcats have visited the library for a welcome lesson and check out. They have learned about our library rules and procedures. PreK-2nd grade classes will visit the library weekly. 3rd-5th grade classes will visit the library every other week for library and book checkout time. Books are due every week for PreK-2nd and every 2 weeks for 3rd-5th. Please check your child's classroom schedule for their day and time.

Parents can check out books, too!

Our parents, grandparents, and community members are invited to check out books from the Wernli Library. You can check out up to 10 books for 3 weeks after creating a Wernli NISD Library account.

Stop by the library to set up your account.

You are welcome to visit the library before school or during the day. Please check in with the office first during the school day.

Book Care

Please help your child practice good book manners at home by keeping their books away from food or drinks, help them find a safe place to keep their book at home, and making sure they return their books on time.

We never charge for late books, but we do charge for the cost of the book if the books are damaged beyond repair or lost.

If books are slightly torn, please send them back to the library and I can use my special library tape.

September Book Spotlight

Duncan the Story Dragon

Duncan the Story Dragon loves books! There's only one problem... he can't control when his imagination takes over. This is a sweet book about a book lover who searches for someone to read to him so he can hear the ending of the book.
