Superintendent's Message
Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope that you and children had a successful start to the school year and are settling in with new schedules. This year we welcomed over 3,300 students, 353 faculty (teachers, SLP, OT/PT, nurses, counselors), and over 580 employees.
The first few weeks are always busy and there is an abundance of paperwork that needs to be completed. I thank you in advance for completing and returning all paperwork to your student's school in a timely manner. Please be sure to return the Emergency Contact Form as soon as possible.
Curriculum Nights are planned during September and October and I encourage you to mark your calendar for these important events to meet your student's teachers and understand the curriculum. In addition, I invite you to attend my virtual "State of the Schools" addresses scheduled 3 times during the school year. During these meetings I will provide updates on building projects, budget, district initiatives, and more. More information can be found below. There will be time for your comments and the meetings will be recorded and available for anyone unable to attend.
There are many ways to be involved in your child's education. Whether you are a member of MESA, QMS PAC, SEPAC, Mansfield Band Parents, All Sports Boosters, Gridiron Club, or a classroom volunteer, your participation and support make a difference for all our students.
As a reminder, there is a variety of assistance available for our students. If your child needs school supplies, financial assistance for field trips or extra-curricular activities, or additional nutritional resources, please contact your school principal or use this LINK for contact information.
Sincerely,
Teresa Murphy
New and Refreshed Facilities
We are grateful for the incredible level of support the Town provided so that we could build and refresh several facilities this past summer. We will have a number of opportunities to express our appreciation for the generosity of our town residents who helped to make all of these improvements possible. Please join us at any of the following events when we will mark the occasion with a heartfelt “Thank you” from the Mansfield School Committee and all of us in the Schools.
Alumni Field is sporting a new turf and track. Please join us for the following games:
Friday, 9/13: 3:45 Field Hockey will host the first game on the new turf and 6:45 Boys Soccer will compete under the new Alumni Field lights.
Thursday, 9/19: 6:00 Girls Soccer when you can check out the new scoreboard.
Friday, 9/20: The first home Football with the Marching Band and Color Guard performing at half-time. The teams will also welcome youth cheer and football at this event.
Volleyball will open the MHS gym, but we are waiting for the new bleachers to be installed.
Robinson School has a new playground. The ribbon cutting is scheduled for the morning of Friday, 9/20 at 10:30. The children are already enjoying the playground as it opened the first day of school. I was thrilled to drive by Robinson School this past weekend to see children utilizing the play structure during off-school times.
