Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction
- The Delaware Education Language Line, which has been funded using federal COVID relief funds, is no longer in service. Over-the-phone interpretation services provided by Language Liaisons ceased on June 30, 2025. Pre-scheduled virtual interpretation services through Ad Astra will cease on September 30, 2025, funds permitting.
Colonial has established a contract, with Ad Astra, effective June 15, 2025 for both On-Demand Telephonic Services and Pre-Scheduled Virtual Interpretation Services. Please discard all existing Language Line instructions in your building and replace with the new instructional flyers below. Be sure to inform all staff in your building/department of this change as well.
If you experience any issues with this new service, please reach out to jennifer.wisowaty@colonial.k12.de.us and/or clientsuccess@ad-astranic.com (contact info on flyer).

SafeDE Application
For the 25-26 school year, the SafeDE application will continue to be available to all students, staff, and families thanks to the partnership between Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) and Delaware Department of Education (DOE). All students and staff should have access to the SafeDE website through their ClassLink dashboard. We also encourage students, families, and staff to download the app to their cellphones by visiting https://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/safe-de/.
The SafeDE app continues to offer the following services:
Report a Concern allows individuals to anonymously report concerns for safety or to request help for personal needs
Text a Counselor allows individuals to chat with a crisis counselor
Additional Resources allows individuals to explore community resources for a variety of needs
If you have any questions about the SafeDE application, please contact Cheri Woodall in the Health and Wellness Division.
