STUDENTS REMEMBER: A MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTE
In honor of Memorial Day, the SMHS Girls Lacrosse Team placed American flags on the graves of veterans, honoring their service and sacrifices. Thank you to our student-athletes, the Clark-Haddad Post 188 American Legion and Commander Ray Tourville for keeping this important town tradition alive. We also extend our deepest gratitude to those who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedoms. Your courage and dedication will not be forgotten.
BREAKFAST CLUB: SENIOR SUNRISE TRADITION
The senior class kicked off the day with the traditional SMHS Senior Breakfast Tailgate in the school parking lot. With a spread that included donuts, eggs, sausages, pastries, etc. the morning was filled with good food and even better friendship. Surrounded by their classmates, this is a fun and memorable way to savor the countdown to graduation!
A DISNEY THEMED PERFORMANCE ENDS WITH A STANDING OVATION
SMHS unified theatre and art students presented an entertaining performance of select Disney movie scenes and songs. Each piece reflected the hard work and passion of the performers and left the audience applauding for more!

BASEBALL TEAM CELEBRATES TEACHERS... THEN WINS LEAGUE TITLE!
Before taking the field for their highly anticipated league championship game, the SMHS baseball team took a moment to celebrate the educators who have supported them along the way. Each player honored a teacher who made a meaningful impact, recognizing the vital role they play both in and out of the classroom. With that inspiration fueling them, the team went on to win the game and secure the league title!
CONGRATULATIONS! GO KNIGHTS!
ON AIR WITH THE CLASS OF 2025
Seventh grader and dynamic radio personality, J.T. BINIENDA, and his father, Jamie Binienda, spent the week shining a spotlight on the Class of 2025 through a special radio podcast project. Together, they interviewed numerous seniors, capturing their reflections, memories, and hopes for the future. The heartfelt conversations offer a unique and personal tribute to the graduating class, giving listeners a chance to hear directly from the voices of 2025. The interviews will be played in DeConto stadium prior to the graduation ceremony on June 7, 2025. Thank you, J.T. and Mr. BINIENDA for creating such a memorable tribute to the CLASS of 2025!
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: MARTY MULROY
Out of 79 talented performers from across Massachusetts who auditioned for the prestigious JIMMY AWARDS, only 14 were selected as finalists, and we’re thrilled to share that our very own junior, MARTY MULROY, made the cut! Marty’s incredible performance earned him a spot among the best in the state, and we couldn’t be prouder. In the coming days, two of the 14 finalists will be chosen to advance to a Broadway workshop in New York City. Until then, all 14 will shine once more at the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guilds' Musical Theatre Awards Show on June 9.
Bravo, Marty!
FROM CLASSROOM to the CHAMBER: A SENATE EXPERIENCE
Mr. NATE EVERETT's history students recently attended a field trip to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate and the JFK Library and Museum. Students were able to learn about the goals of President John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address, his actions in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and his role in the Civil Rights Movement during his administration. Students also received a brief tour of the EMK Institute to learn more about the function and history of the U.S. Senate. It was a great day enjoyed by all!
TOE-TALLY FREUDIAN!
Psychology teacher Mr. MIKE McNEILL was in for a laugh this week when a student surprised him with the ultimate psych-themed gift: a pair of Freudian slippers. Yes, you read that right, cozy footwear featuring none other than Sigmund Freud himself. Whether interpreting dreams or just strolling the halls, Mr. McNeill is now analyzing the subconscious in style!
SMHS CIVICS PROJECT: BEACH CLEAN UP
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
KIND HEARTS FOR KIDS
National Junior Honor Society students recently gave back to our community by volunteering at the Kindness Festival in Bourne, all to support the mission of Kind Hearts for Kids. The organization is dedicated to uplifting children and teens in foster, adoptive, and kinship care, including those being raised by grandparents. From running activity booths to helping with setup and fundraising, our students brought energy, compassion, and plenty of smiles to this meaningful event. Their efforts helped raise awareness and funds for a cause that brings hope and support to so many young lives.
