Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
Happy New Year, Corron families! We hope you enjoyed a restful winter break and quality time together.
As we begin the second half of the school year, we’d like to celebrate some great news about student attendance. Being at school regularly is important for learning, and our goal is to miss no more than about 9 days total, which is equivalent to about 5% of the school year.
This year, we’ve seen a strong improvement in attendance compared to last year. For the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, only 55.8% of our students met this 5% goal. In the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year, 68.5% of students met our attendance goal, which means about 50 more students were in school consistently than at this time last year. This is a big accomplishment and shows the positive impact of our families’ efforts!
District 303’s goal is to have 80% of students attending school at least 95% of the time. We are making great progress and appreciate your continued support. While it’s important to keep children home when they are sick, we encourage parents and guardians to be mindful of non-illness absences whenever possible.
Let’s keep the momentum going and aim for 75% of our students meeting this attendance goal during the second half of the school year. Thank you for being our partners in supporting overall student success!

A note from the School Nurse
Cold and Flu season is upon us once again. Preventative measures remain the most effective way to reduce the spread of influenza and other viral illnesses. Please review healthy hygiene habits with your student, such as hand washing and keeping hands away from their nose/mouth while at school.
Absences from School
Report all absences to the attendance line. Please provide reason for absences and whether or not your child has a communicable or contagious illness.
Keep a child home from school when:
• Your child has had a fever of 100 degrees F or more within the past 24 hours
• Your child has had vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
• Your child has an unexplained rash, sore or pink eyes with a discharge
• Your child has a persistent, productive cough
** Your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school
** If a bacterial infection has been diagnosed, your child must have 24 hours of antibiotics before returning to school
** If your child has not fully recovered or remained home for the recommended length of time, parents may be contacted and asked to take the child home.
Extended Absences: Extended absences of 5 or more days may require that the student present a doctor's statement of re-admittance to the school nurse. For further information on childhood illnesses and diseases please go to Health Information on the D303 website, or contact your school nurse directly at: cor-nurses@d303.org
