The Weekly Highlander
Volume #32
A Message from the Principal
Dear Highlander Families:
Welcome to May, the last month of the school year. Monday will be our last school wide day of testing, there will be no tutoring before school. There are many activities on campus next week for you and your student. On Thursday, our drama classes will be performing during periods 2,4, and 6, Mr.Stenberg will be contacting parents with details on attending. On Thursday night at 6pm our choir and band students will perform sharing the music that they have been working on this semester.
There are only 24 yearbooks left at this time, if you want to puchase one please go to Jostens.com or see the flyer in this newsletter. If you have an 8th grader who would like to attend the promotion party on May 23rd, please purchase your tickets now on the PTA website at hewespta.org.
Please stay connected to Hewes by checking our website and following us on Instagram @heweshighlanders for the latest information and news.

Front Door Safety Enhancements
To Begin on Monday, May 5th
In the Tustin Unified School District, we are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have installed door cameras / Intercoms at the front entrance of Hewes Middle School as well as other schools in our district. This means that, as usual, the front door of our office will be unlocked at 7:30am. Once school starts, the front doors will be locked and remain locked during school hours. Anyone requiring entry will then be able to communicate with our staff via the doorbell intercom. Our staff can then remotely unlock the door for entry. The doors will be locked during school hours beginning Monday, May 5th.
This initiative is part of a broader district-wide security enhancement, including the installation of additional cameras, visitor registration systems, and appropriate signage. This is all aimed at creating a safer and more secure environment for everyone. Please be on the lookout for new signage at the front door of the school.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep our schools safe.
