Critical Reminder

One of the most critical elements for any marching band is that all members are present for rehearsals so that the group is working together as an ensemble.

As of today, we have yet to have 100% attendance for any marching band rehearsal this season. We will not reach our full potential as a competitive ensemble if the attendance does not improve.

We need everyone, students, parents and guardians, helping everyone to understand the importance of rehearsal and when it is or is not appropriate to miss. Our marching band functions as a varsity level sport, and there is no bench. Every student who participates is as important as the other. When students miss, it causes challenges for the other members.

Reasons to stay home
Excused absence from school
Fever
Vomiting/diarrhea
Sore throat accompanied by fever
Migraines (must be documented on medical history or with doctor's note)

When you are expected at rehearsal
If you attend school, you are expected at rehearsal
Headache (can be fixed with hydration, snack/meal or OTC painkillers)
Fatigue
Homework
Feeling nauseous/upset stomach (until that becomes vomiting or diarrhea)

Students should not be sitting out of rehearsals unless there is documentation from a physician indicating accommodations for such. Students may become overheated or dizzy over the course of a long, hot rehearsal day. Students can stay out for a rep, but staff will expect students back into the rehearsal. Students who sit out excessively will not be permitted to perform the run at the end of rehearsal. Students with excessive issues sitting out may be ineligible for performance moving into football and competition days. Should this continue, students may ultimately lose their spot in the show, and be removed from the marching band.

A successful marching band season takes a village. We need families to make sure students are taking care of themselves - appropriate rest, meals, hydration - are all critical to ensuring we can practice at the level needed to perform our show.

BoosterBucks Fundraiser Ongoing

Our fall BoosterBucks fundraising efforts have started. The BoosterBucks fundraiser is an important part of our Marching Band budget, helping us provide the equipment, resources, and experiences that make our program possible. In addition to supporting operating expenses, this year we are trying to raise money to purchase new drum major stands.

The dates of the campaign are August 18 - September 17 and our goal is to raise $17,500. We are currently at $2,013.00

We’re asking each family to help spread the word and encourage friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors to participate. Your student has a unique link with their name attached that they can share with friends and family.

Thank you for supporting FC Bands and helping us make this fundraiser a success! We appreciate everything our band families do to support our students.

Concert Band Fee Information

Invoices for Fall Semester Concert Band fees have now been sent out.

If you have already paid your class fee by cash or check, please be patient as we work through the invoicing and payment application process. It may take some time for payments to be reflected correctly in our records.

As outlined in Ms. Nason's recent email, students should have received the 2026-27 Handbook Agreement Form. This form details the primary expectations for students and families, as well as information regarding class fees.

The band class fee is $40 per student, per semester, per class and is paid directly to our Band Booster organization. These funds help cover:

  • Contest entry fees
  • Transportation costs
  • Additional educational resources and opportunities for students

If you selected online payment on your agreement form, please wait until you receive your invoice before submitting payment. Invoices will be sent through Booster Hub to the email address provided on your agreement form.

Please also note that you may see a consumable fee listed in Skyward. This is a separate district fee and is not part of the Band Booster class fee. Consumable fees support the purchase of music, method books, and other materials that students will use and keep throughout the school year.

Thank you for your patience and support as we process payments and invoices. If you have any questions, please let us know.

RaiseRight™

Fundraising for YOU - all year round! No selling, no spending extra time or money… just everyday purchases turned into earnings. All of the money you earn goes straight to your student’s band account to use toward their band fees.

How does it work?

Rebates earned are added to your RaiseRight account. Once a month the RaiseRight Coordinator sends a rebate report to the Treasurer so the funds can be applied to your student’s band account. This will show as a credit line item on your monthly statement. The easiest way to earn is by downloading the RaiseRight app on your phone so you can purchase on the go!

You can also use an "online shopping" tool via RaiseRight to stack your earnings. Please note, credits from taking advantage of the "Online Shopping" tool will take longer to show in their booster credits. RaiseRight will not pay out online shopping credits until 45 days after purchase to assure no item have been returned.

Who can use it?

Any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, or neighbor can sign up for an account to help raise money for your student. They don’t have to live in Indianapolis in order to use it, either! With the convenience of the RaiseRight app, out of town friends and relatives can help you earn too!

How much can I earn?

Really, that is up to you! The more you use, the more you earn. Many of our families have offset their fees by as much as HALF just by using RaiseRight.

More information can be found on the FC Bands website at RaiseRight Fundraising.
