At Hayes Elementary, our mission is to educate, challenge and inspire every student to achieve personal success and become a confident member of society.

We had another great week at Hayes! Our Walk or Roll to School event was a wonderful success! It was so much fun seeing our Huskies walking, biking, and rolling their way to school. Thank you to all the families who participated and helped make the morning so special!

We are also so excited for our Trail or Treat event TONIGHT from 5:30–7:00 p.m.! This is one of our favorite events of the year, and we can't wait to see our Hayes community come together for an evening of Halloween fun! A huge thank you to everyone who donated candy and to the families who signed up to host a station along the trail. Your generosity and support make events like this possible. We are so grateful for our amazing Hayes community!

🎃 Halloween Parade – Friday, October 30!

We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween with our Huskies next Friday! Students are welcome to wear their costumes for our annual Halloween parade. We can't wait to see all the creativity, excitement, and Halloween spirit throughout our school!

Costume Reminders

To help ensure a fun and safe celebration for everyone, please remember that costumes with blood or gore, weapons, or props are not permitted. We ask that family members attending the parade follow these same guidelines.

Parade Details – 3:40 p.m.

Our parade will begin at 3:40 p.m. Students will exit the building through the exterior doors near Kindergarten, walk toward the North Playground, and re-enter through the Library entrance.

Families are welcome to attend! Please find a spot along the parade route to cheer on our Huskies as they show off their costumes.

Important Dismissal Reminders

• If your child needs to be dismissed early, please arrange for pickup before 3:35 p.m.

• If your child's dismissal plan will change, please notify both your child and their teacher before lunchtime.

• Students will go home wearing the costumes they wore during the parade.

Rain Plan

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will move our parade indoors. Families attending will need to check in at the main office before lining up in the gym to enjoy the parade.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled week of Halloween excitement and making special memories with our Huskies!

Check out Ms.Lakatos and the green team on the news! Our students wrote letters to the Zoo encouraging them to compost their food waste. The Detroit Zoo loved the idea and is now composting at their resturaunts because of our Huskies!

This week, students brought home an envelope with information about our Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser! This is a delicious way to support Hayes! Families can purchase Texas Roadhouse's famous rolls, which come frozen and ready to bake whenever you'd like. They're perfect for enjoying at home or serving with your Thanksgiving dinner! You can also purchase their delicious cinnamon butter or gift cards.

Every purchase helps support our school!
