August 2026 Update From The D95 Foundation
From Your Executive Director
Welcome Back, D95!
The school year is officially underway! Between back-to-school events, curriculum nights, practices, activities, new routines — and, for some families, sending older kids off to college (!) — this is always a busy and exciting time of year.
At the Foundation, we were proud to kick things off by once again hosting a Welcome Back Breakfast for 700+ District 95 staff members on their first day back. It’s one of our favorite traditions and a small way for us to celebrate the incredible teachers, staff and administrators who make such a difference for our students every day.
And there’s plenty more ahead! Our Fall Grant Cycle will open in the coming weeks, giving D95 educators the opportunity to bring new ideas and innovative learning experiences to their students. And mark your calendars: Harlem Wizards tickets go on sale September 14!
This year’s Harlem Wizards event is especially exciting because, for the first time, it will be a collaborative fundraiser between the D95 Educational Foundation and all eight District 95 PTOs. We love the idea of our school communities coming together for one big night of fun while raising funds that directly benefit D95 students.
Here’s to a great school year and an exciting fall ahead!

Strong schools are built on strong community partnerships. That's why we're excited to introduce the D95 Foundation Community Partners Program—a new opportunity for local businesses to make a lasting investment in District 95 students while demonstrating their commitment to education and our community.
With four partnership levels, businesses receive year-round recognition and meaningful opportunities to connect with District 95 families, staff, and community members. Most importantly, their support helps fund innovative grants, student programs, scholarships, and transformational initiatives that expand learning opportunities for every student.
Together, we're building partnerships that strengthen our schools, support our students, and invest in the future of our community!
